Heaven knows we have a lot of turkeys. The AskWoody site’s scheduled to go down shortly, and may be down for two days or so. I’ll continue to tweet (@

      Hey Woody

celebrating a traditional Thanksgiving, hope you enjoy it! We just found a great Vietnamese restaurant…

Sounds like you are opting for the non-traditional Thanksgiving celebration–hope you and your family enjoy, and have a happy and safe holiday!

Our family has come down with a nasty cold virus–so we have opted not to inflict our germs on other family members, and we are celebrating quietly at home.

Hope the transition to your new web software goes smoothly!

Hum… the “Thank You” button dissapeared from my interface, so thank you Woody!  Among the things I am thankful for is all your time and effort to keep us updated on the latest Microsoft c***********; as well as all the forum participants who struggle and report in.

As a Canadian, I am also thankful that I have a somewhat belligerent but good neighbour nonetheless, so Bless all the good people of the US, happy thanksgiving to all of you.

      John in Montreal.

      Happy Thanksgiving to all.

So are you running on the new hardware now? Maybe it’s my imagination, but the site seems more responsive than usual.

Hey there, WOODY: My turkey was great! Especially, dining with my 94year old father in law and my 93 yr old mother in law. And ESPECIALLY with my wife of 52 yrs of marriage. M

I always find it amusing that the turkey has a big smile on his face in these Thanksgiving graphics! I guess he is oblivious to the fact that he is what’s for dinner.

Oh wait, maybe that is the turkey that the President pardoned!

Happy Thanksgiving, Woody. I am very thankful for all of the computer knowledge you impart, the forums you have set up, and your honesty in reporting.

The site still hasn’t gone down yet? Is this upgrade still going to happen or are there new issues now? Looking forward to the site returning to what it was in the (what seems to be) distant past. 🙂

No change yet. We think it’s still coming.

@Sessh:  Site hasn’t gone down “yet”, however when I click on a Topic in the Blog, itimmediately logs me out!   I’m giving up, as I’ve tried this numerous times without any success.   Hope that “once and for all” it will be permanently “fixed”, as we all do.

…however when I click on a Topic in the Blog, it immediately logs me out!…

          @walker
: Easily fixed by just refreshing the page! It did it to me logging in and getting back to this thread, so just hit F5 or click your browser’s “Refresh” button and wait for the page to refresh. You’ll then see that the “Log In” heading has changed to “Log Out”. 🙂

          1. Simply log in as usual using the “Log In” heading at the top of the page.

          2. If the next topic’s page or topic’s thread you come to after a successful login has the heading at the top of the page that says “Log In”, simply hit F5 or your browser’s Refresh button and wait for the page to reload. The heading at the top of the page should now say “Log Out”.

              You’re Very Welcome!

Now, if only the developers would take the site down (as advertised) to fix bugs like the aforementioned one and to deliver the promised improvements in functionality and performance…  🙁

          • #147363

@bob99:  Thank you SO much.   This will save me a TON of time.    Very, very frustrating when you log in, and next minute you’re logged out!    That helped make this an even better Thanksgiving!!!      🙂   🙂
