An epidemic of plagiarism — outright duplication of other people’s works — is raging through chatbots and other artificial-intelligence technologies.
One study shows that almost 60% of the outputs from some chatbots contain plagiarism. The good news? The latest detection software can be 100% accurate in separating AI-plagiarized text from original, human work.

Cooks Source magazine plagiarizes, doesn’t get the point
This one has me steamed. A print magazine called “Cooks Source” copied a posting on the Internet, edited it, then used it as their own material, with the author’s byline. The author wasn’t notified, didn’t give consent. When the author wrote to the editor, the editor said that the author should be happy to have her writing plagiarized.
Reminds me of what Microsoft’s “Crabby Office Lady” did to me years ago with an article I wrote – except Microsoft didn’t bother to acknowledge me, and didn’t edit anything. Straight copy and paste.
