Word for the Web is Microsoft’s recommended replacement for the soon-to-be-deleted WordPad app in Windows. The browser-based apps are worth keeping in mind. They let you keep working with Word, Excel, or PowerPoint docs if Office isn’t working or you’re at another computer. All you need is:

Review: Microsoft Office Online
I had a chance to dig deep into Microsoft Office Online, iWork for iCloud, and Google Drive (Docs, Apps, whatever), for InfoWorld.
This is the result of the Office Online exploration. (You may know Office Online as “Office Web Apps” but there’s been a name change.) Surprisingly, Office Online may be all you ever need – and it’s free for personal use. Just be aware of the shortcomings, and don’t try to create a presentation with it.
