Officially announcing the Win10 Fall Creators Update
The official announcement is up.
The video of HoloLens and Cirque was most impressive. But it was a video. I have no idea what it would look like in real life.

Several bloggers have hinted that they’ve already been briefed on important new stuff. When you see reports of new features popping up (you’ll see them all day, on all the usual sites), remember that they were written last night. Microsoft is very, very good at handling press.
There are also multiple hints at a new Insider beta build. Brad Sams pegs it at build 16193. Neon is the most likely new feature – I wonder if it’ll be as good as Aero Glass?
Should be interesting.
UPDATE: Looks like Joe Belfiore’s back. Awwwwright! https://twitter.com/kevin_scott/status/862449874830110720
If you’re listening to the pre-show voiceover, I believe the announcer is speaking Kiwi. E.g., “teen” = “ten” and “seeven” = “seven” “carrot” = “current” — (with a wink to my Kiwi friends).

Frederic Lardinois on TechCrunch Microsoft launches the Fluent Design System, its take on Google’s Material Design and on and on….
Yep, all of those appeared within a few minutes of the start of the presentation.
“Fall Creators Update” Oy. “Fluent Design System” vs Metro.
Windows Story Remix looks… oh, nevermind. I’ll spare you the snark. Let’s wait and see what the shipping product looks like. Those of you who lament the passing of Windows Live Movie Maker (born Sep 2000, died 2012) may have something to be happy about.
Fluent Design System really does look better than Metro and even Aero Glass. That’s a huge concession, coming from me. Or maybe it’s just a halo effect from JoeB.
Cloud-powered clipboard that works between iPhones and iPads and Android phones and tablets. Super clipboard in Office. Yeah, I’ll use those. Wonder if it’ll be as good as Ditto Q?
