One of my favorites is “Stayin’ Alive In The Wall” (Pink Floyd + Bee Gees mash-up by Wax Audio). But did you know that a mash-up of two freeware programs can really complement each other to get things accomplished?

Additional memory and a solid-state drive can significantly improve the performance of some systems, but there are other factors to consider. While researching this topic, the Microsoft Doc article “Speed up your computer” popped up in my search results. It provides a helpful summary of tweaks that might put more zip back into a hard-working PC. Here’s my hands-on take on those suggestions.

An audio problem in Win10, a forgotten app, and a Dropbox update

Controlling audio in Windows has always been one of those things that should be really simple — but aren’t.
Recently, I ran into another audio problem that really had me flummoxed. When I was watching a Netflix movie on my PC, inside a Firefox tab, audio came through just fine on my USB headphones. But if I unplugged them, there was no audio from the speakers attached to the machine’s audio-out port.
