      I am not streaming.

The server just stores the files in a shared folder, that our desktops can access.

      Thanks for the info.

Rebooting once a year isn’t bad.

      Thanks for the info.

    • in reply to: Flash Drives (SP2) #1058079

Thanks for this tip. It just solved my problem (after 2 hours of trying).

My new Sandisk Cruzer was ‘invisible’, although all of my other flash drives worked fine. The new drive was being assigned the H drive. However, H was being already mapped by my login script.

    • in reply to: Network Drive Mapping Extended Error (XP Pro) #1043296

Problem solved. I mistakenly assigned the user to multiple groups, some of which had rights to the share and some did not. After re-assigning the user to the correct group the drives mapped correctly.

Yes, I did type the wrong slash character.

I’m not sure, I’ll have to find out.

I have my macro security set to Low.

    • in reply to: Trnsferring SBS to New Server #1017543

No. I have a license for SBS. I purchased it separately from the old server and have the original installation disks.

    • in reply to: Trnsferring SBS to New Server #1017506

I got the impression from the SBS Administrator’s Companion that sysprep was useful when the old and new servers were pretty close to identical.

Was this a bad assumption on my part?

    • in reply to: Uninstall MS Works (Office 2003) #1017409

Right. The user has never used anything other than Office and has no need for Works.

    • in reply to: Can’t Import Excel File (2002) #949606

Your Excel file had extraneous space characters somewhere in the headings or data.

I used the =trim() function on the two rows, copied and pasted the values into a new sheet.

I was then able to import the file without any problem.

    • in reply to: Convert number to month (2003 SP1) #949597

You could also use the following Choose function (assuming that the cell with the month-determining value is A1):

      =CHOOSE(A1,”January”,”February”,”March”,”April”,”May”,”June”,”July”,”August”,”September”,”October”,”November”,”December”)

    • in reply to: STSNWI.DLL (2003) #897713

After working fine for two weeks this problem occurred again.

What I have discovered (although not figured out why) is that this error only occcurs when Outlook 2003 is open before starting FrontPage 2003.

If I close both Outlook and FrontPage, and then restart FrontPage, FrontPage works properly.

All of our mail goes through our ISP’s SMTP server.
