I tried it and even reset the computer. No luck. Thanks for trying.

Thanks very much. I’ll look for it – or something similar in auto supply store.

thanks for the suggestion – I’ll try Xmarks. Chrome doesn’t let you point to the FF bookmark location, at least not as far as I could figure out. Right now I gave up and uninstalled Chrome – thought I’d wait for a while and try again maybe in the summer. I was spending too much time, and figure if it’s that tricky, I don’t need it.

To add to my previous complaint, Winmend hasn’t responded to me and I still can’t get rid of it.

I liked the idea of Winmend but I could never find out how to reset the shutdown time–so everyday at noon it popped up. Finally, I decided to uninstall it. Ha! It oesn’t want to be uninstalled. I used 2 programs on it, then I manually deleted whatever else I could find, using regedit to get rid of registry keys.

AND IT STILL POPS UP EVERY NOON. I have just emailed their support for help.

Forgot to say that both Living Cookbook and Mastercook let you search by ingredient as well as by recipe name, and you can browse inthe different categories.

For many years I used Mastercook – http://www.valusoft.com – but about a year ago switched to Living COokbook, which makes it very easy to capture recipes from online sources. For printed sources, scan the recipe into a PDF and then use the “capture text” tool (I use Fox IT Reader), copy and paste it into the capture tab in Living COokbook. Then you can select ingredients, procedure and other items, and LC will automatically move the data into the right spot.

If Mastercook’s latest version had a similr capture feature I’d probably go back to it because of other features (better ingredient list, better categorizing, etc.).

Another month has passed and I still have the same problem. Tried to get MS help but they want $39, and I just bought this program last year and have had no help. I have been told more than once that reinstalling Outlook will not help. I suppose it wouldn’t if you used the old .pst files & profile. My mail comes through gmail, so I am thinking that I could just zap Outlook, store my old files somewhere out of the way, set up a new Outlook and import messages from Gmail for the last 6 or 12 months. Wouldn’t that be away of avoiding whatever the problem is?

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m the only one using this computer so of course I’m the administrator. Something tells me I’m no longer eligible for MS support, so I really feel up the creek with no paddle. I’ve been thinking about upgrading to Windows 7, but right now I don’t have time to do all that.
But everything else on the computer seems to be fine. Maybe I could just try reinstalling Outlook and see what happens.

Thanks for responding, but Gmail isn’t the issue. I had this set up 2 or 3 years ago and it has worked perfectly until now. it’s an Outlook problem, and I am told that even reinstalling Outlook doesn’t help with this particular problem.
