Yes I found a light. Does the light go off when the battery is fully charged?

    • in reply to: Must select Operating System to start #1261347

I just did a google search and found the answer. Here it is:

Right click “My Computer” Go to “Properties” Click the “Advanced” tab Click the “Settings” button under the “Startup and Recovery” section Choose the OS choice you WANT to boot under the “System startup” section’s “Default operating system” Uncheck the “Time to display list of operating systems” box Click “Ok” Your Done!, Next time you reboot, it wont give you that annoying OS choice menu! IF you chose the wrong one, dont panic, you can just hit F8 in the bootup process and there is an option to select os choices.

I followed the instructions and it worked perfectly.

YOU TUBE DOWNLOADER worked fine – downloaded the file and then was able to convert it to an MNV file which plays on windows media player. Thanks for the tip.

Thank you Roderunner, that did the job. I remember now but your advice helped my memory. Thanks again

    • in reply to: Get around password request? #1221032

Yes the password request comes up before Windows starts up. As I said, I have tried to go to SETUP but it still asks for the password.

    • in reply to: Laptop Clock not staying on time #1221031

The clock loses time only when the computer is turned off. I shut it off and left it plugged in to my electrical connection and it lost time. I shut it off again and disconnected the electrical connection and it lost time again. I just turned it on again and have it on the battery and within two minutes the battery went from 100% to 81%. Does that mean the battery has a problem? And would this somehow be affecting the clock?

Thanks Gerald – it was the Memory Card Reader – I downloaded and installed it from Sony Support and all is well. Thanks again.

      Hi Terry,

It is a E1505 Inspiron – so you think the battery would be interchangeable?? Thanks.

    • in reply to: Need drivers for a TDN Computer #1219102

SIW did not show me the sound card or ethernet card that were not installed with drivers. I have a USB network connection and it showed that but not the other one. Tell me about EVEREST – where can I get that and what does it do?

    • in reply to: Change Owner or User Name #1219093

That did it – now the computer simply shows “owner”. Thanks.

I just figured it out – hold the FN key down while pressing either the F3 or F4. Thanks anyhoo!

That did it, Joe – thanks much.

    • in reply to: Windows Explorer not responding #1208113

I also have a new Dell Laptop system running Windows 7 Premium -64 bit and have experienced the same issue with Control Panel and Windows Explorer. Obviously there is some commonality in the issue.

    • in reply to: laptop cooling pad #1207750

The usb cable has a power connection that plugs into the cooling pad. I think it is the power connection in the cooling pad that is the problem. A standard USB cable will not work with the cooling pad.

    • in reply to: Is program compatible with Windows 7 #1207461

HOORAY – I just installed PHOTODRAW 2000, V2 into my laptop with Windows 7 Premium and it is working just fine. It was just a straight installation – nothing special. Thanks BYRON.
