Building upon the worksheet of Zeddy, I added some columns and formulae that produced what I needed. So thanks for getting me started! The modified file is attached. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks for the responses! Things have been hectic and I’m just checking back in. The conditional formatting solution is a good starting point, but I deal in money. Suppose there were dollars in the columns next to the invoice numbers. Can I sum the highlighted invoice lines on each tab to some location, to determine the dollar value of the highlighted items?
      thanks again.

Thanks. I thought there would be. I thought I saw something last summer. Some quick way to get around the lookup function by an array formula. I’ll see if I can peruse the posts of last summer in some way to find it. Or I’ll just hack away at the project.

      Got it! Thanks alot! I guess it’s 95% learn-by-doing/asking.

All RIGHT! Thanks for the answer: I’m up and running again. grin

I looked at those extensions and saw many files. Which ones relate to Word specifically? Or can I safely delete the whole list? Thanks for the idea.

OK! Thanks alot. I will experiment.

OK! Thanks alot! Exactly what I needed!
This just goes to show you that you can stare at these menu options ’till you’re crosseyed and yet miss the one you need. “If it had teeth, it would have bit me.”
      Thanks.

    • in reply to: Document vs. Print Preview (97) #552980

I have become a big fan of Page Break Previewing my print documents. Have you worked with that view of things? It can be accessed from within Print Preview. There is also a Toolbar button you can add to the toolbar. Anyway, try that. You can mess with the columns and drag page break lines and see perhaps a little more. Then do a Print Preview. I wonder if the WYSIWYG has problems with there being bold settings within cells?

That’s a good idea. I have not had occasion to get into the ODBC business but that may be the solution. The main issue there is setting up the interface, correct?

    • in reply to: Full Path Name and Doc Name in Title Bar (97SR2 or XP) #551184

I read, in this Lounge as I recall, that under the Customize Toolbars Command set the “Web” set of commands has an Address “thingy” that you can drag onto your toolbar and it will show your file address plus other recently visited locations. I implemented this tip and find it useful. I parked it next to the top menubar so there was enough space to display the full path.

    • in reply to: Adding round function to existing formula (Excel 97 SR1) #550180

Thanks. That is a great page (J-walk) that I’ve been to many times. Just shows you you gotta be checking everything all the time! Hadn’t noticed that add-in.

    • in reply to: Adding round function to existing formula (Excel 97 SR1) #548615

Thanks to everyone. I am slowly getting the drift of how to think in the terms of “objects” and so on. The whole purpose of this is to try and eliminate the dreaded dollar-off effects seen in financial schedules when formatting vs rounding effects accumulate. I don’t know if this will solve the whole issue, but being able to go back, after a large schedule is setup, and insert the universal round function is an approach I want to try. These examples will be great to use.

OK! Thanks everybody..let me work on those ideas.

I posted a question last week and it one of the replies the MOD function was discussed. I am also studying it for further use. Look at the ss that was attached to my question. In those formulae the function is testing for the frequency of distribution of an amount. Sorry-have to figure out how to connect with that “this thread” link as shown above, else I’d link you directly.
