Thanks Doc, but that did not work for me. sad I will keep looking.

And no, I am not allowed to add software (I did add a few games, but everytime I have IS look into something I have to uninstall first)

    • I had this problem with an update a while back on my Vista machine. It was also a very important update. I tried all the tricks that had been laid out in many websites and none worked. In the end I gave up and just let it try to install everytime I had updates. It failed through about 5 more updates but then it finally worked. I figured Microsoft had fixed the issue in one of the other updates.

And there you go, I connected to the VPN and it promptly insisted I lock and unlock my computer with the current (i.e. the ones on the network) credentials. Worked. Thanks

Warning to all, I selected the first link in here and my work internet came back saying it was blocked because it is a sexually explicit site. I have e-mailed to myself to check from home though, sounds like a fun game! 😕

    • in reply to: How to cook italian sausage? #1100667

I am more of a fan of Bratwurst actually, from http://www.carlesbrats.com/. They are about a 2 hour drive from me so I go get them direct, but they say they do mail deliveries too. I have also gotten hot sausage there, but was not thrilled. As for hot italian sausage, I get Giant Eagle brand, they are my local grocery store. I am still trying other brands to see if anything works better. I do not have a local butcher, just grocery stores.

I have to disagree with not boiling the sausage. For the longest time I only had a stove top and no oven or grill. Now, I am a HUGE fan of good bratwurst (which leaves out Johnsonville, let’s not even begin to suggest they know what they are doing). Since I did not have a grill I ended up boiling my brats and had very good results. There were 2 important things I did to make this work. The first was to add spices directly to the water when it started boiling, then I added the brats and cooked for 15 minutes. As I pulled them out of the pan I pricked the skn where they were bloated making sure that the hole was tilted to the pan (usually the liquid squirted in the pan without a major mess).

Now, I should mention that now that I can pan grill and outdoor grill I will not be boiling any more.

Thanks all, I ended up going with the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Anodized 12-Pc. Cookware Set. The nicest part is it just cost me points with a hotel chain, but having good information is also a huge plus. I can get the glass lids fairl cheap so will add those as I find I need them. I already have a couple non-stick pans that I have been using and will continue to use for omelets and other basics, but it will be nice to be able to properly brown mushrooms and potatos again.

      Speaking of which,

Why did the mushroom go to the party? Because he was a FunGi!
Why did the Fungi leave the party? Because there wasn’t MushRoom!

      hehe

The answers received so far are great. Since the non-stick have gotten fairly cheap lately I like the idea of buying them cheap and using until they are bad. I thought that I should be more specific on my choises so that you can see they are good quality.

Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Anodized 12-Pc. Cookware Set (Stainless Steel set)
Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 10-Pc. Cookware Set (Non Stick)

I find it funny that these come with huge crock pots as I live alone and will rarely have use for such large cooking tools.

No good Jezza, seems to only return the main screen. The site is http://www.snigglezone.com, maybe I did something wrong, but I don’t think so.

OK, Thanks for the suggestions. I don’t have Acrobat anything but Reader (Work took it away a while back because I only use it twice a day). Guess I will have to figure the clues the old fashioned way.

Thanks all, this has been great information and maybe soon will be able to converse intelligently on the subect

I guess I was hoping for a single download, this is going to take time and effort to get all the chapters, but I guess it will be worth the effort.

I tried working with MS support through e-mail and found them to be a total waste. I will report this guy to MS though. It is a good thought.

    • in reply to: OCR SOFTWARE #971480

We use Scansoft OCR with our software. It is built in and it does a great job IF you can inform it in advance what to look for. I am going to try and attach a screenshot of the configuration window. This is done through our software so I am sure that the Scansoft window would be different.
