AskWoody LoungerI never use PaperPort myself. But I guess there must be its ActiveX control for you so you can insert the ActiveX in Access Form. Then I assume you can view the file in the form with a few lines of code.
Try to look it up when you are in Form Design view, go to Insert menu>ActiveX Control…>scroll down the list and look for the PaperPort. Then you have to explore the activex how to make it work for you. Sorry I have no idea about it.
Can you view the file with Acrobat? If so, you can insert Adobe Acrobat for Control ActiveX. I use the code below to view PDF in Access for inserted with Acrobat ActiveX.
Private Sub cmbPDFFile(Cancel As Integer)
Dim strString As String
Me.AcrobatActiveXControl.src = Me.cmbPDFFile

AskWoody Lounger…
If I open a database in A2K, what does CurDir() return? The current location of MS Access or the location of my database, if the two are located in different places?
…To your last question, CurDir() will return the path of the db.

AskWoody LoungerFileCopy Statement is in A97 Help, but not in A2K or higher. I have to keep Help file of all versions just in case.

AskWoody LoungerWhy don’t you force the Word to maximize and use Message Box to block the process and keep the Word visible. Check it out at http://www.helptalk.net/forums/access/messages/156344.html
…
obj.WindowState = 1
…HTH.

AskWoody LoungerThank you for your reply. I have downloaded MDAC 2.7 and installed it. Then I downloaded Jet40SP5 and installed it. Nothing improved.
When I tried with Access XP, it gave me this error message.
Run-time error ‘429’
ActiveX Component can’t create object
And it hilighted at this line of code.
cnn.Open “Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;” _
& “Data Source=D:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice10Samplesnorthwind.mdb;”

AskWoody LoungerI found the error causes by ADO. How can I register ADO, ADOX.
I have mixed versions of them i.e.
Microsoft Active Data Objects 2.6 Library (msado26.tlb, 80 KB, 2.70.7713.0)
Microsoft ADO Ext. 2.7 for DDL and Security (msadox.dll, 176 KB, 2.70.7713.0 )
Microsoft Jet and Replication 2.6 Objects (msjro.dll, 88 KB, 2.70.7713.0 )
Any idea?

AskWoody LoungerNovember 20, 2001 at 5:57 am in reply to: Importing from word to a memo field (Office 97 SR2) #553111Hi,
I would suggest you to link the Doc file to your db by using Hyperlink. Or insert Microsoft Web Browser to your form then link the Doc file to it so you can view the file like you see in MS Word with all formats still there.

AskWoody LoungerHi,
When you are in a subform and want to get out to a next text box on the main form, just hit Ctrl + Tab

AskWoody LoungerHi,
I just had the problem this morning when I was creating a demo db to help someone at http://www.helptalk.net/forums/access/. I imported a module from a db created by A97 and once the process finished I could not open the module and the same error message showed up. I just created a new A2K db and imported all objects except the module. I tried to import the module again to my new db. It works OK.

AskWoody LoungerHi,
I have 97, A2K and AXP installed on the same machine. They all work find. XP has improved some features found in A2K. Be careful when you install XP, it will ask you to remove the old Office applications found in the machine or not. Just say No.

Bad news and good news. No, the limit still there, 255 fields per table. Good code how to transpose at MS site http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/ar…RCH&SPR=ACC2002

AskWoody LoungerHi,
Here’s what I have done so far.
Sub DeleteDAO()
Dim dbs As DAO.Database
Set dbs = CurrentDb
dbs.Execute “Delete * From Test;”
dbs.Close
End SubSub DeleteADO()
Dim cnn As ADODB.Connection
Set cnn = CurrentProject.Connection
cnn.Execute “Delete * From Test;”
cnn.Close
End SubFind more info about moving from DAO to ADO at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/techart/daotoadoupdate.htm.

AskWoody LoungerHi,
You have to import data into a temp table. Then append the data into One-Side table first, later append to Many-Side tables.
Hope this helps.
