Thank you so much! thankyou I got it, fanfare and the attorneys are happy. (Which, of course, is all that matters — I exist only to serve! rofl )

Hans, I’m sorry. I don’t know what you mean when you say “post the control source of the calculated total.” I understand the criteria part, and had that done correctly. This is what I have for the control source in the form: ” =IIf([Pay_Stub_Hrs]=0,0,(([Gross_Pay]+[Bonus_Amt])-([Deduction1_Amount]+[Deduction2_Amount]))/[Pay_Stub_Hrs]).” Where do I put (post?) this to get it to calculate in the query?

      Thank you!

OOPS, got it. Thanks. My form now shows zero if the result is less than zero. I changed the control source, as you suggested, to read: =IIf([EE_Record_Hours]=0,0,(([Gross_Pay]+[Bonus_Amt])-([Deduction1_Amount]+[Deduction2_Amount]))/[EE_Record_Hours])

      Thank you, thank you! clapping

Yes, it is a calculated control. The control is: =(([Gross_Pay]+[Bonus_Amt])-([Deduction1_Amount]+[Deduction2_Amount]))/[EE_Record_Hours]

So where do I show the “if” statement that you gave me? In a query, as suggested above? Or in the form field – before or after the control? I assume this is much easier than I am making it. Thanks for any insight. dizzy

Thank you to both Brent & HansV. kiss

This case deals with pay issues regarding migrant workers, so a lot of the regular employment law doesn’t fit them. They fall under agricultural, and even there there are some things peculiar to the wages of agricultural workers who are alien workers. To complicate this, the employer just switched at the first of the year from a 5th & 20th payday every month to an “every two weeks schedule.” Anyway, your suggestion to put the pay periods into one table is what I needed, I think. yep

The “deductions” are part of what we find dubious, they deduct for “uniforms” every pay period. Those amounts need to be subtracted from the gross salary before calculating the hourly wage. I need to calculate a wage per hour field based on total hours in a pay period. sigh

Thanks again for responding so quickly and so thoroughly!

I also got the Bs Gold and Bs Clip with my Sony CD R/W, and I use it daily at work to back up text files from my hard drive. Once you have formatted the CD, it works just like any floppy.

Thanks. Just the news I wanted to hear. I think we will be getting individual licenses for people who want to use it from home, so that would work great!

Thanks again for the quick response. I love this place! joy

Did you ever set up this software, and if so, how did it work? I work for a non-profit and we are looking for a low-cost way to connect users from home to office. This looks good to me, but I would like to hear from someone who has actually used it.

It would have been nice, but they don’t have service in my area code (503 – Oregon). So it would be long distance. Aw well.
