    • in reply to: Javascript variables not defined. #1275690

I am having trouble running Javascript from web sites. In the Error Console I see messages such as “gFld is not defined” and “initializeDocument is not defined”, and the page does not display correctly. …
On another computer I can access the same sites correctly with no errors, so the actual scripts are OK. There is evidently something incorrect or missing in my computer which is preventing variables in the script from being defined??

The OS on both computers is XP SP3, running the same browsers and JRE. Any ideas please?

      Nothing to do with JRE.
Most likely would be some form of content blocking on your PC. One or more of the files the web page uses are not being loaded. Try disabling any Advert Blocking you have to verify.

    • in reply to: Firefox, Chrome Script problems #1269068

“A script has stopped working… http:google/chrome/area utilities…” this is abbreviated because I haven’t written down the full info. The only way out of this is to kill the power. 😡
I have not ‘knowingly’ downloaded Chrome. If it wasn’t in the Windows updates, I may have applied the Chrome patches when I have updated my homepage from their prompts.

What can I do to stop and/or correct this?

First, the error message is NOT referring to the Google Chrome browser. I believe that “chrome” is referring to the “look and feel” of . It is either one of the web pages you have open, or possibly a Firefox extension/Theme you have installed.

Revo runs it for you. Just wait for the “next” button to become active, then check the results screen in case you need to do something (delete items etc) before pressing it.

Also, not sure why you have the problem. However, as a workaround you could always copy a section title(s) into Opera Notes.
At least you would have a link to each page still.

Try Bulk Rename which supports “regular expressions” AND has it’s own support forum if you get stuck.

    • in reply to: Gap-size puzzle #1248454

Or to generalise, where A is the additional length then the gap will be
      Gap = A x 1/( 2 x Pi)
      Gap = A x 0.159

    • in reply to: Gap-size puzzle #1248398

Hang on, this must be unit dependant.
Start with a sphere of 1 inch; then add 3miles to the rope !!
The gap will be a lot more than 6 inches…..

    • in reply to: Opera not working on some sites #1236679

I don’t use AOL – but it seems you are not alone.
      See Opera Forums

Have you checked in Opera Error Console for anything which may give a hint?
Have you tried masking as FF (or even IE)?

No, this is specific to add-ons for Mozilla Firefox so is in correct forum area.

    • in reply to: Opera – extreme HD activity on shutdown #1234365

I am convinced now that this has something to do with the LOW MEMORY warning and the INCREASED PAGE FILE SIZE message.

So may not be related to Opera.
Have you checked hard disk capacity and size of page file?

    • in reply to: Opera – extreme HD activity on shutdown #1233967

In that case – strange, not seen this myself.
Maybe it is “still” deleting the data, or perhaps it could be deleting the cache/cookies for other tabs that you still had open.

      Thinking of flash/video etc. ???

Do you also have Opera Unite or any widgets installed?
Do you use Opera for mail or RSS etc.?

    • in reply to: FireFox 3.6x and Opanda EXIF viewer plugin #1231021

      I’m confused …

They have a plug-in for Firefox but it has not worked for any version beyond 3.5. I have tried the plug-in with 3.6x under WinXPsp3 and Win7Pro to no avail

this is only in Win7 Pro; it does appear in WinXP Pro sp3.

Also, are you referring to an extension or a plug-in? Where does it come from?
If PowerExif from http://www.opanda.com then they only claim support for XP and Vista (no mention of Win 7).
