Thanks. The only options I have under Windows Update are when to download and install updates. I have it set to notify me but wait to do anything. In the past I always had the icon with the extra icons accessible from the triangle in the tray. While I did install many updates from last week, there are several that were delayed and still waiting. Also, I never got the notice or icon for the large batch of updates last week. I had to manually check through control panel when I read about them in the newsletter.

Go to notification icons and location in comntrol panel. Scroll down to windows update and check locations selected. Check location to show icon and notification

Have you made any recent changes just before the problem started?

I would immediately run a full scan using your AV app of choice and MalwareBytes Antimalware. There are also several online malware scanners. Malware often results in failed updates.

Next I might try a System Restore to a point before the problem began. Unfortunately malware can cause this step to fail as well.

This is a great time when a recent System Image would be invaluable. Any chance you created a System Image before the failure?

Yes UI ran three different deep scans with no virus nor malware found. I then ran sfc /scannow again with nothing found.I’ll try a system restore

Although I have the reverse problem I have access to my e-mail on my ISPs server. I have no problem recieving and sending from there and I do not get multiple transmission of an e-mail. The problem in my mind is in the PC. Still have no apparent solution.

Open your address book, highlight the address you wish to delete. Right click and delete that address.

I have found that sending e-mails using office 2010 to be somewhat of an adventure.. The effect you noticed is annoying but tolerable but when you use distribution lists one runs into a myriad of problems. Grouop messages set up in the usual manner exhibit instability. But if one employes the category capability in establishing group or distribution lists this instability problerm seems to go away.

I suggest you download Revo Uninstaller. It’s free and it will solve your problem in one scan.

I am a stand alone user with Outlook 2007. I am having the identical problem. After I shut down my PC and reboot the server downloads e-mails which I have previously deleted. Very annoying.

    • in reply to: Send function in Word 2007 #1230812

I use Win 7 with Office 2007. When I click on send button in Word 2007 I get following message,” Must Access Microsoft Exchange To Access Your Address Book”. I am a stand alone user -How do I accomplish this?? I need to send e-mails from Word 2007.

I have no trouble sending an e-mail I compose in outlook. But I can’t send from word 2007

    • in reply to: Installing Office 2007 without Outlook #1225693

You may choose to not install Outlook by performing a custom install and deselecting Outlook. If you don’t need Outlook there is no need to install it. If you use any “mail to” functionality you just need to be sure that your e-mail program is registered as the default for email.

      Joe

What alternativeail programs mkight one choose???

    • in reply to: Cannot disable Delay Delivery option Outlook 07 #1216691

I have what must be a similar problem. While I used Win XP and word 2003 I could send an e-mail directly from word. However when I went to Windows 7 I was forced to utilize “Outlook”. This combination will give me the same result you suffer with-I can compose the e-mail in word 2007 but the send command produces no transmission. Unless I can find a fix I will seriously consider going back to word 2003,Outlook Express and WinXP(Sp2)

    • in reply to: E-mail from Word #1210749

As far as I know, there isn’t anything further you need to set up, if you currently have functioning versions of Word 2007 and Outlook 2007.

What happens when you go (while in Word) to: Office button > Send > E-mail? – you should see an Outlook message window pop open, with your current document as an attachment.

Are you currently able to send and receive mail, directly from Outlook?

      Gary

Yes I can send and receive e-mails with Outlook 2007. But when I scan a document or picture into e-mail the scan works fine but the e-mail form never appears??? I had no problem-using the same scanner-when I use word 2003.
