I haven’t worked with replication yet, but replication may be the way to go. Does anyone have any ideas along this line?

How about splitting the database into a front end and a backend and putting both on the network. Then you could have different frontends for different people.

Shouldn’t the code DatePart(“ww”,[dateofpurchase]) be written as follows to stipulate that Saturday be the start of the week?

      DatePart(“ww”, 7, [dateofpurchase])

See DatePart Function in Access help. You may also may want to include a firstweekofyear argument.

Thank you very much! I already had the ID field in the table and your solution worked great.

Go to tools, startup, display form and select your form from the pull down.

However your users can bypass the startup form by holding down the shift key.

I suggest that you make your database into an mde file. Tools, Database Utilities, Make MDE File.

Try checking the Avery website for free software. Don’t know their address, but a search on Google should provide the right hit.

Speed Ferret, http://www.moshannon.com/, provides a way to find all instances of a string, i.e. query name, in a database. I have been using if for a couple of years and have found it very useful. Check out their web site.

April 4, 2002 at 1:58 pm in reply to: Send query info to Excel template (AXP / Win XP) #580495

FYI – I do not use a template, I make an Excel file and use that. Then if I need the file saved, I save it under another name. Once you have saved the file under another name you may want to stop refreshing the data. You do that by the following menu choices. Data, Get External Data, Data Range Properities, and then uncheck “Refresh data on file open”.

Another way to do this is to create an Excel query. Create a new Excel file.

Menu choices: Data, Get External Data, Create New Query

Then select Access as datasource and select a query or table from your database. The query then can be modified in Excel or not. One of the options is to refresh the query upon opening the spreadsheet. Save your spreadsheet. To run the query just open the spreadsheet your created.

I use this method for creating updated charts.

How about linking to the tables in your current DB and putting the function in your current DB. Then you can run the function easily.

The company FMS has an add-in that allows you to use formatted text in memo fields.

Try this code. If you enter nothing, all records will be returned, while entering a string returns only records with that string.

      Like “*” & [Enter search string] & “*”

I don’t know about Access 2000, but in Access 97 go to help index and type “specifications”.
