AskWoody LoungerPaul,
You could add an object (say a rectangle) and give it a ‘custom animation’ of ‘appear’. Then set the ‘timing’ to ‘automatically appear X seconds’ after the previous object.
Then drag your rectangle of the ‘slide area’.
That workaround would mean that your last bullet would appear…. then after X seconds the rectangle would appear (not visible, as you’ve dragged it off the slide)…giving the viewer time to read the last sentance.
Cheers

I’ve had a little play around with exporer ‘switches’
This worked for me
on your textbox, right click it and choose “action settings”
on a mouse click choose ‘run program’
in the run program box enter thisexplorer.exe /n
OK
Then during your slideshow if you click the text box, you will get the obligatory (this link may contains viruses harm your computer and start lots of bad things)
but explorer will start without the folder list
explorer.exe /e gets you the folder list
more options can be found here

AskWoody Loungergking,
You may also have to look in other areas of the presentation other than both slide masters…

AskWoody LoungerDecember 7, 2006 at 9:15 am in reply to: HIJACK ADS scan – quickest indication of a rootkit #1042281John,
Thanks for that. The reason I ask is that I was fixing a friends PC that had a rootkit on it. After the rootkit was stopped / disabled from starting.
A scan with hijack-this’ ADS scan (config > misc tools > Open ADS spy) revealed the same file where the rootkit was hidden. I forget the exact details.
but it found something along the lines of this.
windowssystem32nameoffile : (colon) name of hidden file withinWhat I’d wish I’d have done was the hijack this ADS scan before the rootkit was disabled from starting.
Cheers

AskWoody LoungerPineRidge,
To go down the TV/DVD route is generally cheaper with equipment costs. The quality is … well TV quality!
To the PC/laptop / monitors route is probably more expensive (particularly if you intend to end up with more than 1 screen). The quality is better.Their are little black boxes out their that will convert a PC/Laptop monitor signal to a TV signal. This has the advantages of
– everything is ‘live’ from a PC (so changes can be made quickly)
– TVs and cabling are generally cheaper then PC Monitors/cablingSome PC/laptops even have a ‘tv-out’ option built in already. So all you would need is cabling.
PowerPoint can handle your sort of project.

AskWoody LoungerMichael,
I’d try what Hans suggested first. If the CMYK (cyan magenta yellow black) image is not the problem….
>Other people have no trouble opening the file
Then I’d check for ‘updates’ to your version of powerpoint.
On some versions of powerpoint you can just go to the ‘help’ menu and choose “check for updates”Cheers

I believe that the shadow and 3d buttons, are normally tagged on the end of the ‘drawing’ toolbar (located along the bottom edge of powerpoint by default)

Caniac,
See Why are my PowerPoint files so big? What can I do about it?
If you have powerpoint 2002 There is a ‘compress’ feature hidden away.
There are also ‘addins’ you can use to compress (shrink) the filesize, without affecting the quality of the pictures…See http://www.rdpslides.com/pptools/optimizer%5B/url%5D and http://www.nxpowerlite.com[/url%5D
Also have you turned off ‘fast saves’ ?
See Do this before using PowerPoint seriouslyCheers

AskWoody LoungerAlex,
You have two choices….
Either export the slides at a much higher resolution, and then get something like photoshop to downsize the images (and by doing so smooths the fonts a little bit)… see
Improve PowerPoint’s GIF, BMP, PNG, JPG export resolution
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00052.htm%5B/url%5DOr ‘grab’ the screens during a slideshow (to preserve the antialiased (smooth) fonts)…. something like snag it from camtasia makes this job easier for lots of slides.

AskWoody LoungerRich,
The title of this page ‘Pen doesn’t work during slide show in PowerPoint 2003’ appears to fit
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00669.htm%5B/url%5Dbut on reading the solution – I don’t think that will apply to you (unless that feature is has not been installed for your username).

AskWoody LoungerMarc,
Again – I’m using ppt 2003 – and I get the same as Steve gets, it works for me.
I used
Insert > sounds > from file
My sound file is a short .wav fileI set the “custom animation” to with previous
I set each slide to advance automatically after 00:01 (1 second) on slides 1 to 4
Cheers
