We’d need to have more info, or preferably see a copy of the database…

Thanks for yourresponse Hans. I have now solved the problem, it was because the umming query was based on a table rather than the QueryAll – which was based on the table.

Now got the stack up to 39 and the external hard disk is now maped!.

    • in reply to: Mapping Lost (XP Pro SP-2) #1147605

k I too have the same problem – but this occurs to an external hard disk drive on PC1. Peculiarly the internal drives map ok – it’s just the exterior one. Any ideas please? I have increased the stack to 27 so far, with no solving of the problem as yet.

    • in reply to: Fax error message (XP) #1147600

      @ kaplinb
Well, you do surprise me. Up until 4 days ago I have always been able to send a new fax from the fax console. I think that a windows update must have changed something.

    • in reply to: Fax error message (XP) #1147416

      1. I open the fax console
      2. I click on new fax icon
      3. The error message: The operation cannot be completed, pops up along with the mysterious detail!
      4. From exel, access, word or any other programme that we can print from, the fax printer and cover pages are available and can be sent

Hope this helps and would appreciate anybody throwing light on this

    • in reply to: Drive can’t be mapped: Error #1137591

Now found that there was an error in reading pc2 – Acronis wouldn’t recover (!!!) so my girls did a complete re-install 🙁 of XP. Now the other pc’s can see the external disk drives. So thanks for the help and advice.

    • in reply to: Drive can’t be mapped: Error #1137099

Hi Suart, Setting stack at 50 has made no difference. Have put back external disk drive that was being read this morning – no difference. So now to disconnect external drive 2….

    • in reply to: Drive can’t be mapped: Error #1137098

Hi Stuart, thanks for the advice – where do I find the event logs please?

    • in reply to: Drive can’t be mapped: Error #1137087

Have been increasing the IRPStackSize, now going to try 36, without success so far. Just to clarify your comment please: this is happening on the server or client pc?

Sometimes takes a little time to propagate across a network

    • in reply to: Fax error message (WXPHESP3) #1136485

Ok thanks for that. It’s pretty much as we suspected. However up until the end of November we could always compose a new fax from the fax consoles – on both pc’s, that why we were surprised to get this message. Anyhow – thanks again for the insight.

Thank you Hans – your advice worked for my problem too.

    • in reply to: Upgrading to Office 2007 (2007) #1130651

An interesting thread. We are considering an upgrade to Orifice 2007 from 2003. However from this thread I think that the move would not be beneficial; currently 2003 works OK and I cannot see a beneficial increase in productivity to 2007.

    • in reply to: Xp Hangs (WXpHeSp3) #1130260

No change, the Start button didn’t work. Now PC2 won’t boot even to safe mode… having to re-install XP = most annoying.

    • in reply to: Xp Hangs (WXpHeSp3) #1130220

      Hi Doc,
Don’t know is the answer… pc2 on 4th boot loaded ok. Next time this happens I’ll try that and let you know.
