Could you post a stripped down and zipped copy of your database?

[*]Make a copy of the database (in Access 2000 or 2002-2003 format) and work with that.
[*]Remove all database objects (tables, queries, forms, reports, macros and modules) that are not relevant to the problem.
[*]In the remaining table(s), remove most records – leave only the minimum number necessary to demonstrate the problem.
[*]Remove or modify data of a confidential nature.
[*]Perform a compact and repair (Tools/Database Utilities).
[*]Make a zip file containing the database.
[*]If you have difficulties getting the zip file reasonably small, save the database in Access 97 format and then zip it.
[*]Attach the zip file to a reply.

Hi Hans, thanks for the advice – now found out that the form name being used in the macro was wrong! Once again thanks.

Is it possible to change the structure of an existing database while keeping all of the current data? Thank you for your time.

I’d always make a copy of my data, just in case I muck up the structure.

Thanks for that – most interesting. However my question is: we are running W7RC1 and await our October disks. Anyone know if we can upgrade to the October version or will it be a re-install from scratch please?

It sure looks as though the inbox & sent are the same folder with no means of differentiating them. That seems stupid to me. Perhaps you could get an answer in one of the forums at Windows 7 Category.

You can also check some of the threads at ”windows 7″ “fax & scan” – Bing.

      Joe

Thanks for the pointers Joe. I’ve posted a question regarding the location of Inbox and Sent Items to the technet. The bing article wasn’t at all helpfull – just says that you can send a fax.

      Here’s the pic!

      1.) What service pack level?
2.) All monthly MS patches applied?
3.) Have you tried disabling addins?

      Joe

      Hi Joe,
1 & 2 All patches and service packs
3 I have not disabled the 1 add-in we have running in Outlook – Spamaid; but will do so and report back.

This behaviour only just started since we put w7 in – to see how our other programmes react to it; and indeed our reaction to it.

According to the picture at Windows 7 Fax and Scan there should be a “sent” folder.

      Joe

Not that I can find anywhere Joe – see the pic, I am able to configure the path of the Inbox. Can’t find a path anywhere for the sent items

TweakUI XP doesn’t work on Windows Vista, so I assume it won’t work on Windows 7 either.

Microsoft didn’t release a version of TweakUI for Windows Vista, but there’s a free third-party utility Ultimate Windows Tweaker that reputedly works on Windows 7 too.

Thanks Hans. I downloaded it and having looked through the many tweaks there doesn’t appear to be options for setting Special Folders. I’ve asked that question too, on their forum.
      Regards.

Or use Windows Explorer – Organize | Folder and Search options. Then the same General & View steps as Hans posted.

      Joe

      Thanks Guys, for the info’

    • in reply to: Mapping Lost (XP Pro SP-2) #1163564

      Hi StuartR,
Increased IRPStackSize to 50. Unfortunately Pc3 can see Pc2’s E drive but not Pc1’s! Really weird. I will uninstall my Avira antivirus and see if that makes any difference.

    • in reply to: Mapping Lost (XP Pro SP-2) #1163557

Now got the stack up to 39 and the external hard disk is now maped!.

OK, the same problem has occurred again! This time on Pc2 and Pc3. In both cases I’ve increased the IRPStackSize to 51 – still no luck. Can anybody suggest anything please?

    • in reply to: Check points do not load in System Restore #1161401

Of course not. But, I did go back and found where I got the .vbs file.

      http://billsway.com/notes_public/WinXP_Tweaks/

I hope this information can help someone else that might have the same problem. On the page are several other .vbs files that can be used for other problems with System Restore.

Thanks for the link. I downloaded and ran the file, restore point failed. Darn it!

    • in reply to: Date field in a letter #1161158

Many thanks indeed Hans. Just the info’ I needed.

    • in reply to: Restore points dissappear (XP home SP2 all updates) #1157836

Have you checked the size reserved for System Restore?

      Joe

Thanks for replying Joe, the size of the SRP is 9157Mb or 12% of disk space. Currently the C: drive has 8Gb used out of 74.5Gb. Only programmes are installed on C: all data is stored on D: and backed up to E:
Hope this helps, because this is soo frustrating. OK, at the end of the day we may have to re-install XP I suppose [resigned sigh!]

    • in reply to: Restore points dissappear (XP home SP2 all updates) #1157703

Take a look at the first few links from troubleshoot “system restore” xp – Live Search to see if they help.

      Joe

Ok we have tried your suggested artice at Microsoft, and so far we have had no luck. Using the eventvwr showed 2 SR errors, 1 of which appears to relate to AVG antivirus. So we took that out by uninstalling AVG. Now have booted into Safe Mode and no restore points are available.

PC2 is running Win XP HE SP3 and there are no system restore points whatsoever! I have followed every piece of advice I can find but non of it works.
There is sufficient space available 66.9Gb of 74.5Gb.
Unchecked the restore points on the other two drives.
Seen that the Task Scheduler is running.
Ran CHKDSK a number of times
      Any further advice please?
