Format col A & B to the appropriate time format and format col C to “number” format with two decimal places. In C1 enter =B1-A1*24
Excel stores times based on a percentage of the day so 6:00 PM equals 0.75 to Excel. So by figuring out the difference and mulitplying by 24 it gives you the elapsed time in a numeric format instead of a time format.

As Chipshot says the correct command is NETWORKDAYS but it is a regular Excel command in 2000.

      NETWORKDAYS(start_date,end_date,holidays)

      NETWORKDAYS(“10/01/1999″,”2/15/2000”,{“12/24/1999″,”1/3/2000”}) excludes Dec 24, 1999 and Jan 3, 2000 and equals 96.

Go to your Excel help page and type in NETWORKDAYS for more details.

I hate to muddy the waters further but if you check out http://greenwichmeantime.com/local/clock-changes/index.htm%5B/url%5D you’ll see that even the areas that have daylight savings time do not change their clocks on the same day.
You might want to consider a free download like http://www.timezonesforpcs.com[/url%5D to let everyone know what time it is anywhere in the world.

    • in reply to: Roaming Profiles 2000 Server #712345

You hit the nail on the head with the unique identifiers. I created a new profile using a different name, and was able to get them logged on again. I then went into the My Documents folder on the server that saves documents for each user and because I was logged in as administrator I was able to take ownershup of each file. I had to close the file then go back into it (for some reason) and then I was able to adjust the security settings. I could then make a copy of “missing” files, save them to disk, take them to the users computer and put them back on.
Thanks for your advise, I didn’t think of the unique identifier at all. cheers

I use PC Info from http://www.mvpcinfo.com[/url%5D They have a evaluation version that won’t work across a network but it is available for a couple of $$. I purchased the single licence for $25.00 US and I’m very happy with it.

Have you tried formatting the cells to “Number” and setting the decimal place to 1?

Norton Ghost is a program that I have that will do what you need (I think). It has a feature called “Clone” that allows you to copy one drive onto another (larger) drive. You set the larger drive as Slave, do the clone and then change the jumper settings on the drive so the bigger one is Master and the small one as slave. After you reboot you can reformat the smaller drive to give you the extra space.

    • in reply to: MS Query Trouble (2000) #702537

Access worked fine, I haven’t had a problem getting data, the problem was editing in MS Query. But I got to thinking about the network connection. I logged off of the network and tried to run a saved query. The query itself didn’t work, of course, but I was able to get out of the wizard and into MS Query. I then deleted myself off of the file server and created a new account for myself and lo and behold it worked joy (don’t really know why it worked but at this point I don’t really care).
Thanks for your suggestion, because the data was coming in fine I never would have thought of the network connection.
