Thanks for your prompt reply. I tried your suggestion but the problem remained. Other symptoms were that “services & Applications” in Administrative Tools would hang and IIS would not start. This morning I removed IIS web server and BINGO! Everything seems to be working OK now. Just a couple of error messages in System Log “the value named IRPStackSize in the server’s Registry key LanmanServerParameters was invalid. The value was ignored, and processing continued. ” and Application Log “WMI ADAP was unable to load the winspool.drv performance library due to an unknown problem within the library: 0x0 “.
I have only just taken delivery of this PC & I installed IIS myself. I am now wondering whether the Win 2000 CD Rom I have is exactly the same as what was used to install on the PC. I will ask the supplier.
