Yeah! Dat did it! I knew I had done that in the past, but it’d been too long since I’d needed to do it that way.

      Thank you, Thank you!!

Thanks for the reply fellow bearded chin member!

Actually my issue is that I have an JPG on the screen. When I click THAT object, I want the sound to play no matter how many times I click or when in the sequence on the slide.

What you describe acts pretty much like the insert sound from the insert menu.

Is there any way to see this code? I assume from your note that the code will read whatever number/file type of pictures in a certain folder and display them in a running PPshow? So you could use this for a “pre-presentation” show?

Relating this back to ’97 and 2000, you could NOT load 2000 without pretty much hosing ’97 and it’s interface and wiping certain features. Procede with extreme caution. I’ll make an assumption you’re working on a laptop. Look into a second hard drive and cosider loading the ‘other’ stuff on there. Not pretty, I admit, but servicable when needed.

I assume this issue is during the creation process and not during a presentation?

That answer was rather cryptic. Hope it helped!

    • in reply to: Snap to Grid (PowerPoint 97 & 2000) #596680

Sorry I don’t have time for a long answer. Do a search, as we’ve covered this before and requires saving a ‘normal’ or ‘blank’ presentation with defaults in it.

    • in reply to: Printing a single slide over multiple pages? (2000) #596679

I don’t think you can do anything but a manual work around. 2 slides. Duplicate the image on both slides. Make them big enough so they ‘overlap’ at the page break and print.

    • in reply to: Use of WAV file in PPT/PPS presentation (PP 2000) #595241

I’ll assume that the wave file was “x” seconds long and was expected to ‘cover’ “Y” number of (several) slides?

I’ve noticed timing issues from PC to PC of several seconds. I’m not sure if this is due to video memory and the speed of display or system clocks or the current dust storm index on Jupiter.

I have no idea of a fix and only one poor work around. The only thing I’ve done is more segmenting on long “kiosk” type self-running shows, playing the sound longer than needed, then restarting another sound file in each segment.

Thanks much! I knew it was easy.

    • in reply to: Portrait Slide (2000) #592076

The short answer is No. I’m not sure why you’d do that in a projection environment, but that may not be your point.

You could create a separate “portrait” presentation. then create a link to that slide.

    • in reply to: Using Paint Files In Presentation (97) #592074

Depending on your final goal, avoid BMP files as they are HUGE. A JPG file with little/no compression, GIF’s or PNG files are a better bet, generally.

(This being said without regard to versions)

I’ve considered the alternate monitor, although it makes travel difficult! smile

While that is certainly a possibility, I can’t believe that a PC only 1-1/2 yrs old wouldn’t be able to show that resolution.

I’d swear that when ’98 was on it that I had 1024, but I’m not about to wipe 2000 just to find out!!

The other side is that sonys site says it wasn’t available, regardless.

I have a Sony VIAO F520 (this added: NOTEBOOK) now running Win2000. It came with ’98 on it. It would seem that I can only run 800×600 resolution. Higher than that, and the screen scrolls. Sony’s only solution to date is “scroll or don’t”.

It uses a NeoMagic driver, best that I can tell. Does anyone have any guesses on how to get up to 1024 x 768? Maybe by substituting another driver?

Any responses would be appreciated. Don’t know where else to look or ask. Not sure this is the right place either, but I know WOPR folks are bright and willing to try. I’ve gotten no help at Sony’s site or their forums.

      Thanks much!
