I still would like to know what SERVICES are necessary for the CD-ROM writing…. clever I did, however figure out the problem. Somehow the drive letters flipped…so my writer is now E: instead of D:. How in the world that happened, I have no idea…

    • in reply to: Stereo speaker test? #563849

Thank you. That worked great. I also found out (with a quick informal survey of friends with speakers) that if one speaker has the main controls on it, that one is the RIGHT speaker. Sure enough, it is. bravo

Yeah, I see/saw that…but I was trying to change the color of the message. Seems that “using color” doesn’t have the “header” search ability. Oh well… dizzy

I only have access to PC’s. No Macs.

    • in reply to: Printing 2 copies per page (Word 2k SR-1 on Win98SE) #539871

Ug. You’d think unchecking the Collate box would work, but it doesn’t. I have an HP 882C (color deskjet) and an HP Laserjet 3150 (multi-purpose). Both print the same way, whether I have the Collate checked or not. I end up with one sheet with pages 1 and 2, a second sheet with pages 1 and 2, a third sheet with 3 and 4, etc.. Thanks for your help. Any ideas what might be wrong on my end?

Ruth, thanks for the idea…I have to fiddle a bit, but this seems to be the right direction.

Is there any way to replicate the 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,… page printing without typing that? The booklet is over 200 pages. Eek hairout

Wait, wait, wait! Everyone honed in on my use of the word “booklet.” I think this is even more simple than what you all are talking about…

The booklet needs to be single-sided.
      Landscape legal.
      1 1
      2 2
      3 3
(those are each separate sheets of paper, no double-sided printing)
We would then cut the legal paper right down the middle.

Because of the constant editing by other (less Word knowledgable) people, I don’t think a Merge would be a good option. There must be a print-setting combination…

      Thanks for the input!!! flatcat

    • in reply to: Suggested Site management program? #534149

ARG. Yeah, I saw that Dreamweaver could use HomeSite…that is part of my confusion…there must be something EXTRA that DW does…but I haven’t found it.

I have downloaded both trial versions. Looks like unless I figure out the advantages to DW, I’ll stick with HomeSite… cheers

    • in reply to: Suggested Site management program? #534143

Thanks. The votes seem to be in favor of Dreamweaver. I am comparing DW to Homesite. I don’ t see the advantages that DW has over Homesite. What am I missing?

    • in reply to: Suggested Site management program? #534119

Thanks for the suggestions. I want to stay away from FrontPage because of its extra code and non-netscape unfriendliness. You voiced the second vote for DreamWeaver….I’ll have to check on that.

    • in reply to: E-mail weblinks don’t work (IE 5.00.3314) #533310

      Ding ding ding!!!

YES! You fixed it. Thanks. I checked all the other darn file-type settings, but missed that one. fanfare

    • in reply to: E-mail weblinks don’t work (IE 5.00.3314) #533297

Ouch. Yes, I’m sure I’m still connected. I use Outlook 2k-SR2, with IE5.0. Like in this reply to posting e-mail, I couldn’t click on the URL in the e-mail…I had to cut and paste it into the Address line manually. Doing that, it worked. It seems that the Outlook-e-mail-to-IE link is broken.

    • in reply to: Paste Unformat Macro (PPT 2k SR-2) #532600

Wow!!! Way cool. cool It works perfectly. I was worried at first, because the less-than and the greater-than got translated in the e-mail version of your message into odd symbols, but the website version showed me what to change. Odd that you can’t copy/paste off the website page (no line breaks carry over). Thanks muchly! Seriously, you should promote the darn thing…I can’t imagine I’m the only person wanting this capability. bravo

    • in reply to: Paste Unformat Macro (PPT 2k SR-2) #532580

Oh pleasepleaseplease come up with a solution… I continue to mess around with it on my end, but PPT seems to be crippled in regards to VB. Hey, I would promote the heck out of the macro that you come up with as a marketing tool for you/your org…. bow
