I have a couple of questions for you:
      1. Does this happen with any one particular workbook, or with every spreadsheet that you open?
      2. Does the Escape key help you out?

      Thanks!

With that cell selected, try clicking Data > Validation…

If the ‘Allow’ dropdown is set to list, check the ‘Source’ box for the location of your list entries.

OR, if the entire column of cells offers the same dropdown list with the same values, click the column heading and then click Data > Validation… as above

RESOLUTION: I ran scandisk (just for giggles), and it found some crosslinked files. I reinstalled office after correcting the crosslink problem, and I was able to get into the Chart Wizard.

      cheers

I have SR-2. I renamed the acl files, but still encounter the error.

(Edited by smerdonk on 30-May-03 13:32. Forgot to mention that I hadn’t logged on to the lounge since before the puzzle was posted. Usually, if it takes me more than two days, I give up on trying to solve the puzzle.)

I had’t read any other posts to the thread until after I solved it, so no clues were used.

As a side note, I did hurt my elbow patting myself on the back for solving it so quickly – but no pain no gain!

      Does KB Article 287004 help?

Are you certain that you set the table to have no borders? I was able (in Word 97) to show/hide the gridlines with no noticeable difference until I set the table borders to NONE.

I’m using Excel 97, but my Find dialog box includes a check box labeled “Find entire cells only”. Check that box and see if you can get what you need.

    • in reply to: Windows Open Very Small #672516

Are all windows opening like that, or just a few applications? If it is all applications, I wonder if you have some sort of desktop organizer that is sizing windows for you.

If, on the other hand, only those few specific applications are causing problems, open an instance of one and resize to a larger size. Then close the program from its resized state. When you start that application again, did it open to the resized state, or the super tiny state?

Before you issue the delete statements, insert APPLICATION.DISPLAYALERTS = FALSE, and after the deletions, reverse it with APPLICATION.DISPLAYALERTS = TRUE.

What I did (and it seemed to work) is put the following function in your Total Benefit Time cell:

      =(VLOOKUP(TODAY(),A1:G50,4)+VLOOKUP(TODAY(),A1:G50,7))

This will fail if you ever fill more than 50 rows – you can change the range value, though – but should work until then.
