What exactly do you mean when you say you can’t define a Parent for the RouteLink? Also, wouldn’t it be easier to assign a start and stop StopPoint object as properties of the RouteLink?

Yes. I realised eventually that that was all that I needed to do. I’m now revising my code to make it work properly! Thanks for the suggestion.

As to the other reply, thanks – but actually I’m writing it inside Excel. It’s simply a part of other functions that I carry out with VBA to manage a complex data set. Perhaps in time I’ll port it to VB, but not yet.

      sigh

Yet another example of how XL2007 is a series of very worthwhile improvements hidden behind a god-awful interface. Thanks anyway.

      Leif,

      Wonderful, thank you.

FWIW, there is no “reset” button in IE7 options, but I clicked on “Make Default” (since I normally use Firefox) and then opened Firefox to reset it back to that. Hey presto, all the links work again!

      Thanks once again.

    • in reply to: Corrupt profile / PST file (2003) #1095067

      John,

Thank you for that – it is the article I had been hunting for but couldn’t find!

For reference for anyone else who needs to do the same thing, the key that I needed to search on (for Outlook 2003) was 001f3001, and not 001e3001 as given in the article. Double clicking the key gives a text description of the HEX.

I found three references to the “ghost” entry, athough I assume that two of them were from my last correct opening of the PST in question. I deleted all three, and the problem has gone away. Hurrah!

      Thanks.

      Regards,

      Stuart

    • in reply to: More VML woes – zoom (2003) #1070105

      Andrew,

Yes, it is. The default view is a “fit to page” so by making everything 50% bigger in Visio, you make it smaller when you try to fit it into a fixed width web page.

Besides, the problem is that I want people to be able to navigate the connectors – even if I make it appear bigger on the screen. When you view a whole page, you still don’t get to see which connector you’ve just hyperlinked to!

      Cheers,

      Stuart

      Hans,

Thank. Sometimes it’s scary just how much you know! clever

Making the fix they suggest in the linked article cured the problem. Now all I have to do is to remember to make the adjustment every time I save a new file, since a Visio patch doesn’t seem forthcoming.

      Cheers,

      Stuart

[Sysadmins – perhaps the post would be better in Visio forum after all!]

      Hans,

I do have Publisher, yes – although I tend to forget it’s there. I’ll try it and see what happens.

      Thanks

Not so bad then. I’ll give it a go and see what happens.

      Thanks.

That will mean re-creating everything, right? Re-entering all the email accounts, re-entering all the rules, adding all the signatures, changing all the settings? frown

Will it also mean reconfiguring the toolbars, or is that profile-independent?

      Cheers,

      Stuart

Many thanks to all of you – it looks as if it is indeed safe, which was my primary concern.

It’s certainly a stunningly useful piece of software – I’m forever using it to get my email and FTP passwords when I need to access things using other computers.

      Cheers,

    • in reply to: My domain is spamming #1031280

Many thanks for that – I’ll leave it a bit and see what happens. In the meantime, maybe I’ll just go and get that other domain anyway.

      Cheers,

      Stuart

    • in reply to: My domain is spamming #1031278

Hmm. It’s what I suspected, but makes it very very irritating.

What would be your recommended solution:

      a) let it carry on spamming, but reconfigure the ISP to reject non-mailbox mail
change domain and release the old one

Neither seems particularly nice. (a) is the easy option, but risks the domain being blacklisted, while ( means I have to contact all my clients to advise them.

      Cheers & thanks.
