Is that all that does? I don’t want to break anything else that’s set up in Favorites!

I changed to using the Classic menus, unchecked that box, and then rebooted (leaving Classic in place). IE still doesn’t show me all of the menus in the Favorites menu (though it does display them after a delay). Is there some setting you’re aware of that’s maybe specific to that menu that I can check?

In Word, in Options, my choice for “Personalized Menus and Toolbars” is to “Always show full menus,” and indeed, I do always see all the menu choices in Word. But I can’t find the similar place in IE. (I’m using XP Professional with all the latest updates.)

      Other ideas?

I’ve looked there. I don’t see “Use Personalized Menus.” I’ve looked very carefully. I’m using XP Professional with all the latest updates….

      Samantha,

Hans’ solution worked. I was going down the path you suggested, but since deleting one section and creating another caused it to show up again, I was hoping not to have to do that (I have 13 sections in this document!) because I wasn’t convinced it would work. Turned out the solution was way simple — just find the graphic when viewing header/footer and delete it.

So, problem solved and I’ll sleep well tonight. Hooray for the Lounge!

Bless you. So simple! Who expected it to be a graphic I could select?!

      Thanks once again! grin

Have you tried changing the layout of the graphic? The outline looks like it’s an in-line graphic. If you change it to something like top-and-bottom, that outline might go away. Tedious to change it and then change it back if you need to, but may be easier than closing and re-opening Word.

      Hans,

Ironically, I had hit on the idea of clearing formatting and was in the process of testing it when I got your reply to my post. It works! Whew…..

Thanks so much for the info about ^d. That eases my mind and will save me a lot of time, I know.

As always, you Loungers are the best!

Jefferson, I agree! It’s aggravating that Word tries to be smarter than you are. I do need the odd and even checked because I need the rotating margins.

Anyway, Phil’s suggestion did the trick. I only expect to do this at the beginning of the doc, so I’ll just force it here and let Word do its thing for the rest of the doc. Thanks Phil.

And thanks to all who “noodled” on this for me. Saved me some heartburn for sure!

I do see a blank page in the print preview, but not in page layout view. My section breaks are “Next Page.”

I’m just getting started on this doc, so I don’t mind uploading. It’s attached. I’ll be grateful for any insights!

At least thanks for the info about how to print section pages. That has been a mystery to me for some time and will save me much aggravation down the road. Thanks!
