Thanks. Actually do maintenance weekly and did it yesterday. I do not want to loose office 2010 as I just want to try office 2013 at this stage so I am reluctant to uninstall office, which would be 2010.

      Hi,

Many thanks. IE9 is fine with a clean boot. Many Thanks. Any idea how to fix this without disabeling startup programmes one by one or in groups? I have so many of them.

      Best Regards

I have one that works quite well called:

      Stalled printer Repair.

The installation file is called stalled printer.exe.

Unfortunately not permitted to upload and send to you but Google it and you should find it.

      Regards

      Hi,

I seem to have solved the problem. Did a Google search and altered the registry:

      Code:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USERmicrosoftwindowscurrentversionpoliciesexplorer

      and changed the key:
      NoRecentDocsHistory
      from1 to 0

      Hi Jan,
      Thanks once again.
Your understanding of the problem is absolutely correct.
I just added C:My Documents to trusted locations but to no avail.

      Situation is unchanged.

      Many Thanks

      HI,
Many thanks. I do not have a problem in the recent tab. When I set the number of documents in the recent tab that showed fine and I can set numbers in the box but the problem is that no recent documents show. Recent places do.

In options under. advanced, display. “show this number of recent documents” is grayed out.

Per this thread my problem might be solved if I could access / alter the box under options, advanced.

      Regards

    • in reply to: MS Office 2010. Recent documents do not show #1234448

      I am running XP SP3.
Office 2010 was upgraded from office 2007.
My computer is only set fro administrative privileges as I am the sole use who is the administrator as setup wee it was bought.

Please see the attachment to show what was added to the registry.

Excel is the same addition as word.

      This has made no difference.

      Thanks

      Hi,

It is my PC and I am the administrator. If this is the case how would I alter the setting?

      Thanks

      Hi,

Sorry if this is a duplicate response but I am new to this.

“Show this number of recent documents” is grayed out and can not be altered.

      Thanks and Regards

      Selwyn
