      >>> Which version of Legacy are you using? Version 7 is released if you are not using it.

      Thanks – I already have version 7.

      >>> 1) I do not know what happened to your files, but I do not understand you file path “C:UserHome”. Are you using a account named “Home”?

This appears to be the default location for documents on my new Vista PC. I was in the process of moving all of my files to a C_Data folder when I discovered the problem that I wrote about.

      >>> 2) You are seeing leftovers from the “Indexed files” and it takes some time for them to clear out. I do NOT use the indexed feature. I just go in and use the “Advance search”.

I sort of suspected this myself. I’ve rarely used any of the previous Windows Search features, relying instead on 3rd-party software. I just thought that I’d try the Windows Vista Search since it has been promoted as improved.

I’m not sure what printing features you’re looking for from NotePad but there are a number of freeware NotePad replacements that expand upon many of Notepad’s shortcomings. I’m partial to NoteTab Light myself. The NotePad replacements also have the advantage of maintaining the text document format by default (unlike WordPad, as noted in the reply by calvincrumrine).

I have successfully deleted the Google toolbar entries via Firefox by:
Tools > Options > Privacy > Saved Form Information
and then clearing the checkbox for “Save information I enter in web page forms and the Search Bar”
Whether this is the correct and only way to delete the Google toolbar entries, I don’t know.

Just adding a strong second to MartinM’s suggestion. I’ve been using 2xExplorer for two years now – a truly excellent Explorer replacement.
