AskWoody LoungerThank you Hans and Steve! I also appreciate the explanation of what’s going on in the formula. That will help in the future.
I know I said to ignore the strikethrough cell formatting when a match is found, but can it be returned in cell B4 as well?

AskWoody LoungerLooks good, Jeremy. I can work with that.
Now someone will have to explain how this is done so I can add levels in the futureSarah

WSsarahcarter
AskWoody LoungerThanks, Jerry. That is what I’m looking for but with two more levels. Here’s my attempt, but the base starts to flare out.

AskWoody LoungerThanks, mbarron. That’s all it needed! The subject of this post is a little misleading since I had originally been checking for a in the result cell, but I wasn’t sure how to write that in the function. I switched to a result of zero to make it quantifiable. Was also curious to know if I could check noncontiguous cells so that my formula was =COUNTIF(B10,D10,F10,”>0″) but it didn’t like that

AskWoody LoungerThank you, Hans. That did the trick.

AskWoody LoungerAugust 5, 2005 at 6:05 pm in reply to: Find value based on column/row intersect (Lookup?) (2002) #964742And thank you, maxflia10. Do either of the formulas perform more efficiently than the other? Or is it simply another way to accomplish the goal?
