AskWoody LoungerI agree with Fred, RoboForm is an excellent choice, not just for the aspects Fred outlined, another worth a mention they also offer RoboForm2Go which you can load on any computer without leaving a trail. In other words you can Sync RoboForm data into your RoboForm2Go loaded on a USB stick, they offer sync program, found that can be tricky, they changed to annual subscriptions after version RoboForm (R) Version 6.10.2 which i paid life use money for, i’ve stuck with that version which wont install in later versions FireFox 3.6 which is a bit of a pain as hotmail (outllook.com) Yahoo and even Google gmail now complain about (FireFox 3.6) but if i update it i’d need to pay annual subscription for the otherwise excellent program RoboForm combined with RoboForm2Go program

AskWoody LoungerI use Mailwasher Pro to filter all mail before opening Outlook, think that is safest way to go, also Kaspersky has anti-spam filters installed in Outlook program (2007 version). MailWasher allows you to preview all incoming mail accept yahoo, you can preview forst 20 lines of any email, tells you if the mail has attachments and its browser is secure, its supposed to contain any script, with mailwasher you can preview then delete off the server unopened, I’ve mailwasher checking iinet server as well as hotmail and gmail.
When i purchased I was offered life time free support and upgrades but then the program was sold to an American company who have set up a gravy chain $$$.
FileHippo.com offers an older free version of the program. (at own risk) -

AskWoody LoungerI just downloaded your document and converted to PDF no worries using deskUNPDF program, AHACHMENT.docx file was opened in OpenOffice
Having installed my paid version of Office 2000 Premium i found i was unable to convert Word documents to PDF because the required MS driver wasn’t bundled with MS Office until version 2003.
Having sort support from the deskUNPDF program people i found i needed to download OpenOffice to obtain the driver that runs that function and that system configuration works fine -

Safe Money
To provide protection for confidential data that you enter on websites of banks and payment systems (such as banking card numbers, passwords for access to online banking services), as well as to prevent theft of assets when making online payments, Kaspersky Internet Security offers you to open such websites in Safe Run for Websites. You can configure Safe Money so that the application could automatically recognize websites of banks and payment systems.
To configure Safe Money for a specified website:
In the Banks and payment system websites list click the Add button.
The Website for Safe Money window opens. In the window that opens, in the Bank or payment system website field enter the URL of a website that should be opened in Safe Run for Websites.
The URL of a website should be preceded by https:// protocol prefix that Safe Run for Websites uses by default. If necessary, in the Description field enter the name or a description of that website.
Select a method for launching Safe Run for Websites when opening the website:
If you want Kaspersky Internet Security to offer you to launch Safe Run for Websites every time you open the website, select Prompt for action. If Kaspersky Internet Security detects an attempt of accessing the specified website when running in Safe Money mode, it offers you a selection of further actions. You can run the protected browser or open the website using a standard one. This value is selected by default.
If you want Kaspersky Internet Security to open the website in Safe Run for Websites automatically, select Run the protected browser automatically. If Kaspersky Internet Security detects an attempt of accessing the specified website when running in Safe Money mode, it automatically opens the website with Safe Run for Websites. The standard browser used for accessing the website displays a message informing you of the protected browser startup.
If you want to disable Safe Money for the website, select Do not run the protected browser. When accessing the specified website, Kaspersky Internet Security does not use the protected browser. The website is opened with a standard browser.
Click the Apply button in the Settings window. -

Dotcom has said Mega will offer users 50GB of free storage, significantly more than similar sites such as Dropbox and Google Drive, but most details remain under wraps until they are unveiled on Sunday at the Dotcom Mansion.

AskWoody LoungerJune 6, 2012 at 10:25 pm in reply to: Windows Vista Microsoft product key code registry access #1335478oh i messed that post up sorry.
Because the Toshiba Vista Laptop has the hidden partition, and as you can now purchase version 9’s of Acronis True Image Home program for as little as $36. Know if you choose to use that version, you should not under any circumstance activate version 9’s Acronis True Image Home Start-up Manager, if you do Start-up Manager will lock you out of the computer, and you’d need to again restore using the recovery disk you’ve no-doubt now got back to factory settings.
Otherwise in every other respect, i much prefer Acronis True Image Home version 9 version over later versions. -

AskWoody LoungerThat didn’t pas the test of time, oh the program deleted excess usb controllers, however i’m still getting the unknown device appearing in device manger under Universal Serial Bus Controllers the difference now under
“Usb Root Hub (2 ports)”
“Unused Port”
“Unknown Device”Which goes to Port_#0002.Hub_#0004 via USB Hub to either my Printer or Seagate External Drive.
Appears under
Hardware IDs: USBUNKNOWN
Compatible IDs: UNKNOWN
Driver Key: {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}014
Device Instance Path: USBVID_0000&PID_00005&3A40A65&0&2
Parent: USBROOT_HUB4&ae4bb63&2
Info: BADDEVICE.Dev
Class Icon Path: %systemroot%system32setupapi.dll,-20In trying to resolve i attempted to replace “setupapi.dll” (size 1.5MB) with a downloaded (960KB) replacement dll had quite a bit of problem renaming though finally managed to do that. However on reboot comput bit messed up box saying (can’t exact remember) unable to locate nwdrv.dll (something like that) and reverted back to the old setupapi.dll.
More recently found registry key / sub key “Properties Key” which i couldn’t access, so assassinated that key,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSBVID_045E&PID_00835&30351c2c&0&1Properties
but sill the “USB Device Not Recognized – One of the USB devices attached to the computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.”! Balloon Is still appearing…Has anybody able to offer direction to resolve the issue
thanks
