      Thanks Hans,
Will that mean that each user can create there own reports etc?

    • in reply to: Blank a form using a command button (2000 / 2002) #725808

The form is bound to a query – it has check boxes that run a make table query and then lets you preview a report. When you exit the report it returns you to the form – I would like to create a button the clears all the check boxes so that a new report can be run – but I would like the user to be able to do this when they are ready – by clicking on a command button.

Thanks Hans, I’m not sure what to do – there are so many probabilities and assumptions when estimating the cost of construction. But thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks. What would the validation code look like?
      Thank again.

Thanks Legare – I will get in touch with the Bank again tomorrow.
      Thanks all for your suggestions.

    • in reply to: Text with leading 0 to a number (Excel 2000) #671172

Thanks Steve – but all the numbers are a specific length – as required by the bank. Some have leading zeros – others haven’t.

    • in reply to: Text with leading 0 to a number (Excel 2000) #671171

Apparently the bank requires them in numeric format – it is for auto deposit for pay cheques to the employees accounts.

    • in reply to: Text with leading 0 to a number (Excel 2000) #671168

Yes, the text is a varying length including the leading zeros. So I guess I can’t convert them and keep the correct number of leading zeros. The only thing I thought might be possible is to somehow count the # of characters in each text string then add the correct # of zeros when it is converted. But I don’t know how to do something like that in the way of a formula.
      Thanks for you help.

Thanks for your help Pat but it must be something between Access 97 and Access 2002 as the file I downloaded to crack the password, from the post you gave me, showed that there wasn’t any passwords set. I can open the .mdw file and see all the users but when I try to open the database it won’t open, saying I don’t have permission etc. Any other suggestions.
      Thanks
