Thank you very much for this. I did not know where to start for this one. I certainly was not expecting such a complete answer so quickly!! I agree with your comment on the location ref .

      Cheers

    • in reply to: access vba problems (2000) #808019

I have tried everything you suggest. and also done a re-install of access! But when I import in in any form from the old database this messes up any VB buttons on any new forms I have created. I think we are going to have to move all the tables queries and reports and rebuild the forms.

    • in reply to: Exporting Work Hours (2000) #711421

I normally take the data out to excel. insert a column alongside the column referring to hours. Select the data and then use Data Menu | Text to Coumns, In the second step fo the wizards I select spaces as the delimiter. If when I have exported data I get a mixture of hrs, days, etc I write a series of if statements in another colurms to convert everything to hourrs. eg:=If(B2=”days”, A2*7,If(B2=”wks”,A2*35,A2)I can then delete out the uneccessary A2 and B2 (assuming my formula was in C2)

If the translate function in word does not work – or text to speech in excel then you will also not have installed the necessary bits to import excel data.

As a user I could not up date the program so had to get someone with admin rights and the the cd to put it right!!! It now works a treat except I am also driving everyone mad trying to catch the voice out!! It does a pretty fair job of Ol’ MaDonald had a farm!

    • in reply to: Running Total (2002) #656131

Have you made this work yet?

All I am getting is “error” where my runing sums should be and if I click on any “error” it tells me it cannot find the automation object and refers to the id in that particual row (I have replaced Empid with tourID in my data) rather than my column heading?
