RE: “Note that all stored copies of your passwords are encrypted, regardless of where they reside — either locally or in the cloud. The passfiles always remain encrypted when copied from device to cloud or vice-versa. Only you know the master password (assuming you’ve not shared it with others) needed to decrypt your stored passwords. And passfile decryption takes place only on demand, inside your local system.”

I use Boxcryptor to store my Roboform passwords in Dropbox. I have not shared either password with anyone. Is this overkill? Do I need Boxcyptor?
      Thanks

I will give Geekuninstaller a try, however, I now use IOBituninstaller. It works with 64 bit apps and is free as well. To me, it works as well as Revo did. I switched when I went to 64 bit Win7 and Revo didn’t work with 64 bit apps. IOBituninstaller is no longer portable, so that may be a ding against it. It was portable when I first started using it.

As redhotorange suggested, I went to User accounts and then Manage your Credentials. It looked as if my password had too many characters in it so, under edit, I changed my p/w. That didn’t work and it showed up as too many characters again. (I’m guessing if I had only 2 chars in the p/w it would still show 8 dots.) What I finally did was delete the credential. I then rebooted and logged on to Desktop and told it to save my credentials. As before, it didn’t save them. So I then went back to Manage your Credentials and clicked on “Add a Windows Credential” and entered the data and it worked! The one that doesn’t work shows up as “TERMSRV/Desktop”. The one that does work shows up as simply “Desktop” as I entered it. I rebooted and it does log in and shows my printer etc.

Thanks to you and redhotorange for showing me where “Manage your Credentials” is located!!

I have used CCleaner for years also with great results. I used to use the RevoUninstaller free version until it no longer supports 64 bit systems. I now use IOBITUninstaller as it is a stand alone program and doesn’t need to be installed on your system. It WOULD be interesting to see what difference several of these third party uninstallers would make.

      Excellent article!!

Fred, Re:Resetting a cranky Win7 homegroup network he should also insure he has Home Network selected, not Work Network. Work Network will not allow HomeGroup settings.
