AskWoody Loungerif you want to do mapping the power map it awesome. If you get an BI version of excel the power view add-in allows for amazing dash boards. https://support.office.com/en-IE/article/Get-started-with-3D-Maps-6b56a50d-3c3e-4a9e-a527-eea62a387030 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trdX7b0_pE0, but if you do not consider yourself a power user and do not need these feature than stay with 2010. But if you use MS access the 2010 version is the best. They seemed to have dumbed down Access in 2013 and 2016, no pivot table forms.

AskWoody LoungerRichard,
The runtime should NOT require a key. If you already have Access on your computer you can just create a shortcut to it using the /runtime parameter to test your code in the runtime environment.
See thisMS Article for more information.
HTH
I tried to down load the runtime app from this web site.https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=39358
I am sorry that I can not follow your response. I am still confsed, I have not seen a youtube or other site that gives a clear example where the access runtime opens access file even though access is not installed. I once had the developer version of Office back in the days of office 97. That version compiled the access file so that it run on machine that did not have access. So the website I mentioned says down load it and goes through an install process. The install process has a product key component.
But I cannot find it under windows 10. Because of missing product key I can not even find the application in any of the windows 10 menus. -

AskWoody Loungerr3x3 – there’s no ‘of course’ when it comes to IT tech questions. I illustrate:
Phone rings and tech answers
Customer: my computer’s not working.
Tech: is it plugged in?
Customer: Of course it’s plugged in, oh it’s working now, good bye. It’s happened to me and I suspect variations of this have happened to many of the techs on here. The question has to be asked.
Just saying!
Yes I thought that was implied in the title, I will now try do a reinstall of office, and reinstall the addin, I was wondering if it is a windows 10 thing.

AskWoody LoungerAugust 18, 2013 at 2:51 pm in reply to: need to change 0 or 1 to show as an empty check box or checked checked box #1407786I came up with the same solution but I used o and þ Winding characters. Why can’t managers understand 0 an 1.

AskWoody LoungerAugust 17, 2013 at 7:35 pm in reply to: need to change 0 or 1 to show as an empty check box or checked checked box #1407565The data for personida to personidx ais either 0 0r 1, with zero meaning no and 1 meaning yes row variable is the keynames01 to keynames 50. So a pivot tale, keys number by person id gives a 0 or 1 but I would rather report a uncheck check box or a checked box instead of 0 and 1.
person1 person2 person3
key 1 0 0 0
key 2 1 0 1
key 3 0 1 1 -

AskWoody LoungerDecember 4, 2012 at 9:11 pm in reply to: Macro Pivot table where the range of data always changes #1361106My quick and dirty way at the time of the definition of the pivot table is to redefine the table in terms of columns like $A:$Z if you have 26 columns, You click of change data source in the pivot table options.
