      Marc
For Number 1: In outlook, go to TOOLS on the menu, slide down to OPTIONS – in the options window, choose the OTHER tab, and on that tab choose ADVANCED OPTIONS. In the top of that, where it says “startup in this folder”, chose CALENDAR from the drop-down list.

The Taskpad options are part of the views. Either choose a different view from the View menu while in Taskpad, or choose Customize Current View and make all the rules needed for what you want to see.

    • in reply to: HELP! with Outlook 2000 Core MOUS Exam (2000) #545056

Hi! Yes, I’ve taken and successfully passed the MOUS Outlook 2000 test, and I find it to be quite different than the other Office program MOUS tests. I got a high score, but I used to teach the program, including teaching from a MOUS certified book, and so basically had been exposed to each part. Like has been said — read the instructions very carefully. Most people I saw who failed it were trying to hurry through (although I realize you have limited time). Read and re-read the question before answering.

You can use the COUNT expression in the next blank field of your query to create the third colum with the sums (right click on the blank field and choose “build” to open the expression builder to help you)

We have checked drivers and printers. Still having this problem, and now have found a second user with the same issue. Any more ideas from anyone?

Depending on the type of end-user you are dealing with, couldn’t you also try using Data Validation, and simply make it so that when any of those cells are clicked, they will get the message box “don’t input data here” (or some such statement). Very visual for the very elementary.

I think they are all connected to the same network printer. She is at a different location than me, so I will have to call her and see if I can find which printer driver she is using.

Have you tried using the documenter? (under Tools)

    • in reply to: Angle marks on document #1784598

By the way — you didn’t say whether the angle marks are appearing only on the screen, or also on the printer document.

    • in reply to: Angle marks on document #1784596

Those sound like Printer Crop marks (marks for where the printer should cut, like for business cards). I’m not sure where to turn them off in XP — usually it is under the advanced print settings

Depends on how in-depth you want it. I found a basic start at this web site:

      http://www.usd.edu/trio/tut/excel/

But I know I have seen others, if I can find their links. (When I first typed in “Free Office Tutorial” in my search engine, it only gave me one link — Woodys!!!)

Well, I do this using my handy PDA (Visor). However, I am thinking I did successfully export a calendar to another machine once. I will try to look it up for you.

    • in reply to: A way to merge folders? #529625

Thanks to all. This sounds do-able, and I will let you know if it works when I get back over to her building to try it. Sorry it took me a while to get this reply to you.

    • in reply to: A way to merge folders? #529572

I did check tools – services; All our users have a global address book and a personal address book.
      (Microsoft Exchange Server)
      (Outlook Address Book)
      (Personal Address Book)
are the normal services. And hers seems to be okay on that part.

    • in reply to: A way to merge folders? #529565

      Right!
      Currently, her folder list shows:

      Outlook Today (Personal Folder)
           Calendar
           Contacts
           Inbox
           Journal
      Mailbox - "Sue Smith"
           Calendar
           Contacts
           Inbox
           Journal

(I’m not exact on this – don’t have it in front of me)

and it is using the Inbox from one branch, and the Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, etc from second one. I’m trying to put them all back together.
