The ‘Google search’ is itself downloadable from google.com. A simple hack could localize it to your site…

      u probly want CStr().

Of interest is Windows Scripting Technologies, online documentation, downloadable from the MS site.

That was my original question, sort of ~ what do these things look like?

I have them on my machine somewhere, because everything “works”. On another machine, that doesnt have the beta, neither the Calendar nor the Office Chart display in the browser. i havent been able to find any instructions on how to distribute them, either. In the last Office iteration, MS said the Office components are only available to licensees. The language has changed, however; it now says (approximately) “licensees may use the components to manipulate the data. Nonlicensees may only view the data.” The latter is what i want.

ah – that is to insert a FP component into a page.

Unfortunately, I should have said ‘run-time components’, which are DLLs that surfers need to have on their browsing machines, rather than design time components that developers have on their development machines.

My McAfee personal firewall subscription expired. Rather than “Verify that you want to spend $35 to continue using PF”, I uninstalled everything McAfee.

You might re-post your request in the Access forum…

It looks to me like your FP site is hmm … let us say … “slightly hosed”, so perhaps at last i understand the problem(?). Whatever “happened” 2 months ago pranged the site database, to use the technical terms. The only way i know to “fix” this is to create a new site and import all the files from the old site. Either import or drag them. The drawback to this is that you have to redo the navigation, which may be a bear if the site is large. Make sure you use the same folder names so all the links outside the navigation bars stil work.

since I dont have complete confidence in this “solution”, I would wait to see what others have to say about my diagnosis.

Bill, here’s another $0.02 worth: My experience tells me that when FP opens a web, it builds a database of all the files extant at that time. Dragging a file from Windows Explorer into FP works, ie., FP incorporates the draggee into the DB. However, if you open Windows Explorer behinnd FP’s back, so to speak, and drag a file from some folder to the FP folders, FP doesnt see what youre doing. My solution is to add files using the Import facility, or, if FP is open, I close the web and reopen it to rebuild the database.

    • in reply to: Finding include files that aren’t included? (2002) #681518

Reports | Unlinked files doesnt tell much. For example, the status of all the ‘confirmation.asp’ pages is “unlinked”.

    • in reply to: Finding include files that aren’t included? (2002) #681499

“cheating” you say? My motto: “You don’t really know how to use a tool until you know at least three ways to MIS-use it.”

The Report doesnt cover Include files explicitly… it will be interesting to see if FP can find references in ASP statements like
      Response.Redirect “someurl”

      Stay tuned… smile

    • in reply to: FrontPage2002 Double load (FrontPage 2002) #680840

egads! that sounds like the pages “include” themselves, somehow. Or perhaps, the top or bottom border includes the page as well?

      Sorry, no explanation shrug

    • in reply to: Unintentional duplicated text (FP 2002) #680838

The HTML source shows the duplicated text, but it also shows what looks like a photogallery component mixed in with a table . My experience is that when either I or FP screws up a table, it is easiest to junk the page and start over.

Also, my webhost reports that the 2002 extensions are “buggy”. I tried them, found bugs, and returned to the 2000 extensions.

      FWIW.
