      The Aussie price is $39.99, even though the exchange rate is US$1.04 to AU$1.00. Ripoff. And no upgrade for me.

      If the system is set not to hibernate – as this one is – then there’s no need to press any buttons after a period of idleness. There may be a slight delay while the system suspends or terminates a background process, but that’s all.

      I’m having the same problem, and I’m also on XP SP3. Initially there were three updates but today it has grown to four. As soon as they’ve run, the update icon reappears in the system tray.

      They are all .Net Framework-related: 3.5 and 2.0 SP2. (KB982524, KB979909, KB982168, KB974417.)

      The Update History shows successful completion. I can’t ignore them, as they’re all high-priority. Rebooting doesn’t help either.

      It’s a retail version. I believe the licence allows transfer to another PC.
