      Thanks again.

Okay, now I’m embarrased. Turns out the answer was in the Office help files all along, I just never looked before posting blush. The key sequence is & release, then use the mouse to select a “block” of text. Works really nice, too.

Thanks Leif. That looks like the problem. I am waiting for an updated install CD from the manufacturer now. Hoping this will take care of it.

Try using the drawing explorer (view|windows|drawing explorer), select the drawing and right click. This will bring up another menu with “Protect document” which will allow you to assign a password to protect all items selected on that dialog.

I’m using Visio2000 and under the open files dialog you can select .dwg format. It takes some adjustments on scaling and orientation on the page but seems to work fine for me. After opening the file, right click on the screen and select “convert” from the “CAD Object” menu. Not sure how the final result compares with working in AutoCAD, all I use is Visio.

I think I have found the problem. It seems that my ODBC connection was pointing to the wrong database (“master” vice my data “DevDB”). I have corrected this and am transferring the data now. Here is the code anyway… just in case dizzy

I would have to cast my vote for PerfectDisk. I used Diskeeper for a few years but it would not help on a few drives that were severely fragmented (MFT was also fragmented). PerfectDisk did take care of this and was very easy to use, also much quicker. I would try them both and see which you prefer.
