I do not need the archive to be a copy of the main. I would probably be fine with a daily update of the archive but would need to ensure there are no duplicate records copied across. The main database has been used as a data storage for a production facility and was used to serve up trending data for the operators and to pull historical reports on product that was run. The server I have it on was performing many other tasks so I purchased a new server and new instance of SQL (2008). I still need the old DB for the operators but will only need to keep about 2 weeks of rolling data in it. I plan to use the SQL2008 server as a web reporting and analysis setup to replace the historical aspects of the original. RIght now there are no regulatory requirements driving this but that could happen with some product we make in the future. The main purpose is for reporting and analysis. I know enough about SQL to get it running and tinker with views/spreadsheet reports. Very limited experience with triggers and complex queries.

      Thank you for the replies

      Outstanding!

      Thanks Hans.

I have converted many cassettes to CD/MP3 using a shareware program called CD Wave. It does involve some time and work but the results are more than adequate for my listening needs.

I recorded each side to a wav file, split the wavs into individual tracks then converted to MP3.

If you don’t mind having the entire side as one file, then there’s an open source program called CDEX that will work but it does not split the wav files.

You could probably use sound player in Windows for splitting the .wav file but it would be a little harder to fine tune.

I noticed that but didn’t know if you did that for me or just for fun.

      Looks nice…

      Nope, I hadn’t looked at that…downloading a trial as I type.

      Thanks.

Thanks, I guess that will do. I was hoping for something web-based that might be able to tell me who purchased or supplied the software.

Thanks! I used a combination of both methods to get my desired results, works great.

    • in reply to: Win2K dual ethernet problems #650064

I tried removing both gateway addresses and still have the same problem. You are right about the LAN, I can still access it.

    • in reply to: Win2K dual ethernet problems #650058

Unfortunately I do have gateways on both NICs but cannot remove them. I am using this PC as a router and a gateway between networks. If I remove the gateway address my routing no longer works and removing the gateway on the other card will prevent me from access the company LAN.

I’m not totally sure, I tried both suggestions and now there are no problems. A desktop with similar setup still has the same issue though. Dual ethernets, Win2k Server, both cards have fixed ip address for seperate networks. Any attempt to access the web times out unless the second card (no internet access) is disabled. After one connection I can re-enable the second card and all is well until I log out again. confused

Would this still be the case if they are using fixed IP addresses? Guess I should have mentioned that in my original post, sorry.

Thanks for the help! All seems well now.
