Another great (free) photo-editing program is called PhotoFiltre (http://photofiltre.free.fr/frames_en.htm). I use it to tweak all my photos, and I’ve used at work when I’ve needed to point out something in a photo, then put the photo(s) in a powerpoint program. For a free program, it’s very powerful and I like it better than the other four, myself.

Have used Photofiltre with groups learning digital photography – it has many Photoshop like tools.

I’m sorry – but although I regard myself as moderately computer savvy – this article was beyond me. Some of us readers need a bit more hand holding. David

Same here (ALT and wheel does what the wheel usually does) am I missing something.
In Chrome the BBC videos – but not iPlayer – nor on-page videos in other sites – do not work. BBC unhelpful.

Picasa is indeed excellent – but I think for a small free image editor Photofiltre is hard to beat.
I use it in college situations where licenses for Photoshop and Elements are not available.
It allows you to copy and paste sections and make regular and irregular selections as well
      as provide a clone brush.
