Do *NOT* DIY this repair…MS is actually helpful in this case.

One thing I’ve done when not getting the RROD (Red Ring Of Death – the only warranteed repair) but still getting an error is wrapping the machine in towels, and intentionally overheating it, causing the RROD, and putting the box under warranty. Microsoft extended the 1 year warranty to 3 years back in 06; if the machine is under a year old, you’re well within your rights to put in the call to MS. They’re actually not too bad with this issue, I’ve sent 2 back, and had the xbox back in under 2 weeks. One was the same console, another was a brand new one. Luck ‘o the draw, I suppose.

      Al,

I’ve noticed with my Belkin wireless keyboard/remote while watching movies that even while undisturbed, after a period of time, the mouse will move, bringing up the progress bar and play controls in Windows Media Player… Just a thought, since undoubtedly it would have the same effect were I to apply the power options.

Bring out your camcorder or webcam grin

Try disconnecting the devices from the usb port. Maybe you’re getting some sort of interference?

I take that back, an append query will do what you’re trying to quicker (assuming to create the new table, you copied the structure of the old, and then modified the field to suit you). Open a query in design view, and select your original table. Then change the query to an append query, and select your new table as the destination to append to. Drag the asterisk to the query data box, and the click the exclamation point. Hopefully that’s clear enough, I’m a much more visual person.

I’m sorry, I completely misread what you’d stated. Could you create a duplicate table w/o any records but formatted correctly, and then use an update query to move all the records?

I’d agree with you that it would be hardware related. Have you thought about printing labels instead of directly on the envelopes?

      Lucas,

You could try setting a static IP on your NAS, both on the device and the router. What most likely happened was that the NAS device got its IP, and after everything was reset, another machine got the NAS’s IP.

Depends on your system, really. If that doesn’t work, you can always import the Excel file in pieces, and then use a make-table query.

Chuck, you may have to set the shortcut to go to the default yahoo mail page, but not HER default mail page (i.e. yahoo.com/mail). If her login expires before FF is opened again, I could suspect that as a reason for the error.

      Skender,

Did you use the wizard to create the button, or did you write the VBA yourself? Right click on the button, and go to properties. Go to the ‘event’ tab, and select the ‘on click’ event. Click the three dots to the right. It should look something like

      Private Sub CloseButton_Click()
      DoCmd.Close
      End Sub

How do you want to separate the names? Would a comma suffice?

    • in reply to: Concatenate a Field (2000) #1135790

I understand now; I don’t think you’re going to be able to do that, just because the crosstab query is going to want to report data horizontally until all values are shown; it won’t insert a break and return the row under (if that makes sense). If you have 10-20 names, you’re basically going to run out of space across a page.
