Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
The Personal.xls file resides on a computer networked to the server. The file resides on the server and is accessed by another computer also networked to the server. So, there really is no link to the Personal.xls stored macro. One of the local guru’s said to store the macro in the worksheet and put the file wherever you want. I have not tried this yet.

    • in reply to: Sync Yahoo emails to Outlook 2000 #1178307

      Yahoo answered me. Thanks.
The answer lies in the POP3 and SMTP addresses. They have to begin with plus.pop… and plus.smtp…
The port settings are 995 for POP3 and 465 for SMTP.

      Thanks again.

Do you get any error messages when you send/receive on the Yahoo account?

Do you get new message sent to that account (i.e., is the problem limited to messages you’ve already read using webmail)?

      Thanks for responding.
No error messages, and, neither old or new email are synced.

    • in reply to: Autosync for Yahoo (2007/SP1) #1178000

I installed and ran Autosync for Yahoo to send contacts, etc. from Outlook to my Yahoo mail, and none of theme are transferring. Any thoughts?

I just upgraded to Yahoo Mail Plus ($20/yr) with the intention of syncing the Yahoo email to Outlook as touted by Yahoo. No such luck so far. I’m running Outlook 2000 (FYI).
Have you found a ‘fix’ yet or an easy work-around?
I’m going to post this as a new question in the Outlook forum.

    • in reply to: Question on CACHE #1158078

It is unlikely that any cache is causing the problem. Have you run Task Manager to see what might be consuming system resources when the slowdown occurs?

      Joe

Yes Joe, I’ve been through Task Manager many times.
Would a dual core CPU show a burp when switching/updatein/sharing (what ever it really does) ?

    • in reply to: Question on CACHE #1158077

I purge my cache via a batch file which gets rid of the sluggish nature of things.

Include this line in your batch file: sfc /purgecache

      Regards,
      John

This is a new one for me and it seems to work. Thanks John

A Toolbar inside a Text Box. Who whooda thunk.
      I’m so impressed.

Where will the Maple Leafs and/or Canadians finish in the hunt for Lord Stanley’s Cup?

    • in reply to: Adobe 8 Standard #1147494

      Bob,
Since you helped last time, want to try another?
In Adobe 8, when adding text via the Text Box tool. I cannot change the color of the text to black. Any ideas?
I can change: 1) the color of the box outline, 2) the opacity, 3) the fill, but I cannot change the actual typed in text. In the PREFERENCES I have changed all of the setting in the Document Colors Option (under ACCESSIBILITY) to no avail.
      Any ideas?

    • in reply to: Adobe 8 Standard #1146287

      Bob,
I tried the same – open, protect, save, close-out-Adobe, re-open Adobe, re-open the file, view its properties – and presto. You are correct. The page extraction is not allowed.
My issue now becomes a non-issue, thanks to you. Have a Great Day. Mine will be a little bit better because of your post and issue solving.

    • in reply to: Open Files Maximized (Office 2000) #1146283

      Thanks Hans:
The workbook inside of the Excel app.
It doesn’t matter if I’ve had Excell open and am working on a previously saved-as-maximized workbook, or, if I start off a new workbook. I make sure the workbook is maximized, do my work, save it (maximized), go on to another workbook, do the same etc. The workbooks are not on a network. I do have a “personal macro folder” and that is maximized also. Whe I go back into, or, when I start off a new workbook, it starts off partially minimized.
      Go figure.

      Joe,
Thanks for the post. I’ll get it and give it a go.

    • in reply to: Adobe 8 Standard #1145868

      Bob and Stuart,
Thanks for the posts but I still get the same when I view the settings. I would think the NONE in the second drop down box means just that. Oh well, I’ll just wait and see.
      Again, thanks for the posts.

I thought so, but I can always hope. Thanks again.

    • in reply to: Loss of functions (2000) #1094864

Now THATs a useful thread. Thanks Hans for pointing it out.

    • in reply to: Hesitation #1091073

After all these years……I’ve made the correction.
