Cannot answer your inquiry, but; have NEVER used IE at all ever on my system.  Have not ever opened it.  Have always used Mozilla FireFox and now on v72.0.1.  IE is still upon my system blocked by FireWalls, have two (2) running on my system and both are blocking IE.  Have had other browsers and will not allow them to be upon my system, they are not very secure, most are not really usable browsers IMHO!  Chrome cannot be run OFFLINE because nothing is sved to my system, everything is ‘over the internet only’ only the launcher for Chrome is upon your system, IF YOU use that browser.  By the way, have been on the web since before WWW and Windows were ever created and established on the web.

      Ascaris,

A you have so intuitively noted, NOT any sort of a programmer nor CPU HEXPERT.  Although that last one is close, “has-been-drip-under-pressure” could be used.  Have spent the entire night attempting to verify the “ISO” and seems a bit too complex for this simpleton to do.

Have been to the Linux Forum website before, about five (5) or six (6) years ago.  Will do it again.

Thank you for this data and suggestion

      RMeijer,

Thank you for the link to a different version of Linux, have worked with Debian, Mandrake, several others, cannot remember them all, several years ago and this is different.  My experience with Linux was about 1997 through 2005 or 6, just need to get back into it as a back-up for my Win7 SP1 64bit.  Also have a 32bit version on an old laptop, need to get that out and start from scratch, don`t have an itch though (BAG).

Is this more of a command line type of OS?  Will need to get a user interface such as one of the above?

To all POSTERS on this thread,

Would like to THANK one and all for their postings.  Very HELPFUL as well as an education for me if needed within the near or far future.  Once am able to get back on my feet, er, financial feet that is, would like to make a donation.  At this particular time not possible due to other problems that are also a work in progress.

Word of advice, if possible, when you retire and not working on the net any longer, keep yourselves active in any way possible so your mind stays fresh along with some Xercises to keep the body fit also.

AGAIN, Thank YOU each and everyone,

    • Has anyone gone into the Registry files to see where those entries are located? Found maybe seven (7) entries for Sipnotify plus maybe four (4) entries where the EXE files are located.

      jabeattyauditor,

No, am not assuming any thing, except maybe the problem was within the REGISTRY file, maybe just could not adjust that part.

When received that system came with Win7 Professional SP1 x64 with a DVD showing the same DATA on the label. LOVED that system, everyone told me just reformat and reinstall. Was working to recover the Professional version, just NEVER could happen. Eventually using the DVD sent with that system would ONLY restore as Win7 Home Premium SP1.

A little disappointed to have lost that PROFESSIONAL version. Do LOVE Home Premium as well.

      jabeattyauditor,

You did read it correctly, it is just that I am a bit different than any other by doing what comes naturally to myself. Troubleshoot analyze to determine what went wrong with my work, correct that then do not make the same mistake. Also known as a learning process. When you do not have the same mistakes very often then you need to ask what the commands are to correct my HUMAN mistakes.

At 80 years young have much experience and learning. Time means nothing to me as that is not valid any place except on Earth within your imagination, it is a creation of Human`s for a purpose of documenting things chronologically. The Universe has NOT time . . .

      UpDATE: 0834hrs on 06/19/2019

Over estimated my return of my other system by a few days. After spending the entire day plus over night up to about the time above getting my system back:

Dell OptiPlex 960 Dual Core Processor x64/w Win7® SP1/w some updates from Microsoft® and more rejected by USER. Maybe in a couple more days it will be fully operational again, after one (1) month short of two (2) years being down.

Some people have posted that the information given by myself is not valid because they consider some of the Security Software I have given as doing a very fine job being obsolete and NOT trustable. I may not have a HIGHER education like they have, but; feel it is just as good or maybe even better from my SCHOOL-OF-HARD-KNOCKS. What I know and do is taught to me by ME! When an ERROR is made look to see what and why it was done and correct it. My knowledge is not just superficial goes deep into the system. Stated with Data General Main Frame x64 computers in about 1974. Desktop computers before the WWW (World Wide Web) about 1984/w a home computer about 1987 through to this day with not ever being infected nor hacked. Have had only one system that could not be recovered, Win98SE. Now on Win7® Home Premium SP1. How many people do you know that can make a statement like that with NO professional schooling on computers?

      Well Friends,

Looks as though many have their favorites to BLOCK W10, this one has our own from Gibson Research Corp. GRC.Com called “Never 10” a little program written in Machine Language and installs in RegFile to run every time you boot. Steve Gibson also has much data to keep you up on whatever you want. Just search for his site on line two (2) above.

IMHO on email client, have used just about any and all known and some unknown. Mozilla ThunderB1rd is the simplest and you can set it up to your liking.

As for the other item you listed, never have used Microsoft`s only Apache OpenOffice, both are Free Open Source. Any software you choose is strictly up to you and willingness to learn how to get the best benefit. I

        NEVER

get any software for my system from any of the FREE providers, they usually put their own installer and unauthorized software to track you and steal what they can.

ONLY download from the creator or source of the software you want, SourceForge is reliable and have a very long list to choose from.

Thank you one and all for this assistance, my experiences were from
back in the mid 80s to later close to 90s.?? Figured there were some
changes and looks as though that is correct.?? Will work on that
tomorrow, Tuesday 18 June, 2019 as that is going to be a rather involved
job.?? Going to need the H/D reinstalled, removed it to access some of
the data on that H/D to transfer to another computer, the H/D is AOK as
my inspection of it went well.?? I have other computers here that are
64bit and they are all Dell’s.?? The one needing the work has Win7 Pro
SP1 64 bit.?? I only have 64bit Dell computers purchased directly from
Dell over the net, YES there was a DVD that came with it and said it was
Win 7 Pro 64bit, when inserting to DVD drive it was shown as Win 7 32
bit only, it did not have 64 bit nor Win7 Pro on the DVD, called Dell
and they said ‘cannot help you!’?? So I am on my own.

      Mr Capen,

Your list is missing some of the most important. Like WinPatrol, WinPrivacy, WinAntiRansom by Bret Lowry after taking over WinPatrol from Bill Pytlovany. They are very strong and efficient programs. Plus do not see Microsoft Security Essentials within the list and heard Windows Defender OFF-Line has been removed from µSoft’s website, I do not use it anyway.
