Well well. I looked two weeks ago and couldn’t find any. I’ve since given up, returned the kit and bought 2 Xyzel EoP units, which work brilliantly, straight out of the box, no config needed. And they have regular power plugs and leads, so there’s no steric hindrance with adjacent sockets like with most of these things. So rather than try extending my wireless network, I’ve extended my ethernet one instead.

      So Linksys lost out!

    • OK, I started using this and it works great. However…as I create versions of this workbook, I find that the references to Sheet1 remain pointing to the original workbook (V10 for the sake of argument) as opposed to the current one (say V12). How do I make the sheet reference keep pointing to sheet1 in the current workbook?

    • Steve, thanks. Hans’ solution works better for my particular needs, but I appreciate your help.

    • Hans, that does it exactly as I want – thanks very much indeed.

Wendell, thanks, but no I’m not tangled up. Since the problem was related to one slide, I copied all the content to a new one and it worked fine.

    • in reply to: Custom shows and Webex (2002 SP2) #989409

The custom shows are different subsets of slides from the overall presentation. Individually, each custom show is made up of slides that run from front to back (i.e. with increasing slide numbers), but not contiguous slides (e.g. show one has slides 1, 3, 12-18, 34, 45, 56, while show 2 has 1, 3, 10-16, 34-40, 44, 50 and 57)

Doh! – I didn’t even realise this was a property of a dialog box. Thanks.

    • in reply to: Object defaults in template (Office 2002) #938377

Carla, I’m really sorry – I’m obviously not expressing myself clearly. I don’t want a circle to appear on every slide I insert.

Let’s explain my actual situation. I have a template that I picked up some place, in which circles default to a green fill and lines & text in text boxes default to white. I want to change the template so when I next use it for a presentation the circles have no fill and the lines & text are black.

My apologies for wasting your time to date.

      Neil

Carla, thanks. I’m obviously doing something wrong. Following your instructions while working in a POT, I can set the default colours, fills etc as you describe on the toolbars – i.e. the fill colour on the fill button defaults to a weak pink, which is what I experimented with.

However, when I draw a circle, it still has No Line, and “fills” clear. Even if I fill it, select it, right click it and select “Set autoshape defualts”, when I save the POT then apply to a new presentation, the same thing happens – no fill, no line.

Where am I going wrong (And where can I find documentation on working with POTs)?

      Thanks…Neil

Phil & Judy, thanks. Judy’s suggestion made no difference, and although I CAN split the row as Phil suggested, it’s just the d*mned annoyance of something simple as this not working! I want to fix it. It’s worked for me as long as I can remember, through Word 95, 97, 2000 and 2002.

Thanks – but that has the effect of putting the whole row on a new page – the numbered items are in the middle of several paragraphs of text which I’m happy to have on different pages – it’s like this:
      para
      para
      1 nmnmm
      2 nmnmmn

      3 nmnmmn
      4 nmnmn
      para
      para
      para
      and I want 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the same page
