Does excel allow charting of two non-adjacent colums of data? – Yes

How I did it (on sheet 1)

Highlighted the column for the X axis values – data only
      Launch the chart wizard
      choose the XY scatter
      Next>
      choose the Series tab
copy the range showing in the Y values
paste the range into the X values
change the Ss in the Y values to the column letter for your first Y value series (K or L in your sample book)
      click into the Name box
highlight the cell you want to use as the name for the series
click the add button to add another series
paste the data you copied earlier into the X values and in the Y values boxes
change the Ss in the Y values to the column letter for your second Y value series (K or L in your sample book)
highlight the cell you want to use as the name for the series
finish the wizard as you normally would

      See attached for the results.

Can you upload a sample sheet displaying the correct and incorrect results?

      Hi,

attached is a copy of the excel file, shhet one is the source or original data, sheet 2 contains what I copied from sheet 1 to make it easier. Does excel allow charting of two non-adjacent colums of data? I think it may have something to do with whether or not there is text or a label in the top cell of each column.

      thank you for your assistance.

      regards,
      Marty

The only thing I can think of, is that there is an ability to use Rich Formatting, or plain text formatting. It’s right above the compose window.

I use gmail for all my personal emaillings… nothing formal that requires specific margins or similar formatting.

      Hi Christopher,

I thought it might be something to do with the rich or plain text formatting, this appears to happen very infrequently. I may have copied and pasted to Word for spell/grammar check and then re-pasted…this may have something to do with it.

      Thanks again..

I moved your post to the “Other Browsers and Email Clients” forum.

I’ve noticed that Gmail sometimes messes up the line and paragraph spacing of an e-mail. I don’t know a solution for this problem, so I’ll be following this thread to see if someone else knows of one.

Thanks for the lift Hans….the new lounge l/o is great still getting used to it. The more i thought about it, given the limited spell and grammar checking capabilities of Gmail I may have copied and pasted to Word and then re-pasted, this may have something to do with it. Thanks again

      Hi Doc,

Thank for the input…during the interim I resorted to the windows explorer option…slow and cumbersome. I’ll give the desktop another try with your input.

      Leif,

Thanks Leif….not the one…I have the correct drive path and only one colon…..I’ll keep searching. I recall someone telling me that they thought Win 2K does not have the b/u capability. I may need to purchase some more s/w.

      Regards,

    • Thanks Dave,

that is what I thought as well, however, from time to time a window will pop up asking if I want to make outlook express my default mail service, makes me think that a software battle is taking place in the back ground. In all cases I check and re-check my account set up options in outlook express.

Thanks for your input…I’ve used the header function with great success. I found that for non repeating uses, the TablelSplit Table sequnce works well……
