      Wow…..thanks for the prompt tip

    • in reply to: MySQL via PHP and JavaScript #1054268

Correct. The simple option is the one I am pursuing but…the question is how do I connect the nodes of the array (that I managed to get through PHP) to the options of the select boxes that are part of the html page. The most universal DOM compliant approach is document.getElementById(“selectName’).options…but this is accessible through JavaScript only..therefore….how do I turn the elements of the array that are floating in cyberspace into options on the select boxes ?. Thanks again in advance.

I want to return data back to the server. The select boxes are part of a form. Once the boxes have been populated, data is locally processed via JS and then saved back to the server. Once I apply the mysql_fetch_array function and have access to all the members of each and every row….how do I transfer this info to the -existing- boxes so I can operate with the data?.

Just in case the post wasn’t all that clear….I don’t want to connect to MS Office prods,….I just want to get the same functionality VBA but under Open Office…C++ packages are the answer?

HmmmmmI could create all the code external. That’s possible. I’m still unsure that the new button will be aware of the existance of such external source of code. Let me try it out. Thanks.

    • in reply to: HTML-TIME #936839

This functionality has been available since IE 5.5 and is a very convenient way to get animation withought having to much to script. But seems to me, based on what I have read, the universe of things than can be done is fired up only by the loading of the page or some timed effect. I’m still looking for info (although I found way to partially accomplish what I want to do…) but I was hoping someone with lots of experience in the subject would be able to give me a couple of quick pointers….

Hmmmmm…the example cited doesn’t actually “nest” the lists….right? (Just gives an indication as to how to obtain different “bullets”…)

    • in reply to: DHTM Darn DOM!!! Trivial question (IE 6.1) #926186

The reason to post this question here is that I need information on how to operate and/or access the methods of the IE object model. I don’t have any questions as to how to apply VB/A/S principles to this problem. What I need to do write code that will create an image on a web page upon clciking on a button on that very form (client side scripting). I figured there should be a way to do that in a way other that dinamically. Thanks in advance.

    • in reply to: On MP3’s tags…. #879029

I appreciate everybody’s input on this subject. Now…the question that still remains is…can someone suggest or is aware of an approach to get these tags (edited and saved) through automation via VB/VBA or any other COM+ compliant package?. The basic idea is to get this functionality transparent to the user (or without the proprietary interface of the suggested programs). I am not fully aware of the nature nor structure of an mp3 ( as opposed as a….say ..MS Word file….that exposes std and custom properties to anybody that can load an easy to deal dll….). But I still think it should be possible. Thanks again.
