That sounds as though it might fit. However How do I tell? Also If it were a full web page it should be resizable. When I did have pictures and text on the white square I seemed to be able, with difficulty and a lot of fiddling, to get most of advertising garbage that fills the top half of a hotmail screen in turn on the white square.
      Thanks for the suggestion
      Mike.

Dave, thanks for your suggestions. I’m not really wanting to put my family tree on the web. What I do want to do, and I thought that MS had offered specific software is to create a pedigree chart. This starts with one rectangle and two connecting lines, one to each of two more rectangles. rectangle 1 is me, 2 is dad, 3 is mum. Each of those three havetwo new rectangle’s attached for dad’s dad and mum, Mum’s dad and mum etc. It can go back about 10 generations to get to around 1600. The problem is that the rectangles for any one generation are twice as many as the previous generation. Consequently the boxes get smaller and smaller in height, leaving less space for the info (name, dob. dom, dod). I have an A3 sheet (twice A4) but it runs out of space for anything other than name and possibly dob after about 6 generations. There are a couple of other sites, not MS, but I suspect that there will be problems with the printing of a physically large file full of empty spaces connected by lines!. Thanks again for your help.

I actually saw a reference to it in the computer section (on line) of the Guardian national newspaper, I would have said in the last two years. Someone else thinks as I do – see other reply to post.

Thank you very much, Hans. The age function is more suitable for my purposes than the DateDiff anyway.
It is remarkable how few, of those to whom it would be useful, actually know about or use Woody’s lounge.
      Many thanks for your help

Thanks again Doc. That’s interesting. At least in the US there are some wide open spaces. In the UK you dare not take your eves off the road for a few seconds. Little chance of changing station, never mind multiple functions on a button.

Thanks for your response. It dawned on me a few hours after I’d sent the question that there must be software packages that do this with the standard burners. For some reason, Wrong sode of 65?, I frequently miss the obvious.!

Thank you for your help. It dawned on me after I had sent the email that there was probably’standard’ code available in proprietary packages. I shall have a play. If it turns out that there is anything difficult/ awkward/unusual I ‘ll write it up for the benefit of others. Otherwise:
      Thanks again.

      Thanks, Charlotte
I have this database for personal use. I have all sorts of contact info in it: Family, friends, Business , firms that service equipment at home etc.
I use the memo facility to record details, perhaps the cost of parts or the solution to an IT query etc. At present I have made several calls to Belkin support, details in the memo field . I would like to be able to highlight a particular part of the memo text and print it to the default printer. Its nothing elaborate, I would simply highlight that part of the text that I wished to print. I hadn’t thought of using the context menu: my approach might have been through a button’s on dblclick event. A context menu solution sounds much more elegant though. (Because its essentially for personal use, I try to get a simple solution first and then maybe refine it at a later stage. I know, the project should be fully planned before the code is written!)
You’ve helped me on several occasions in the past. Thank You
      Mike
