I quite agree and asked so that i could point out any known problems to my husband, if there were any. After looking at what Bruce mentioned and viewing the web site, i convinced him to uninstall it. Win-win, i think.

RG and i talked about this at the beginning of this thread. The program did not offer a place to save it …. just goes right to the computer you are working on. That is why I have always liked getting the discs. Sigh………

      Thanks for the thought.

I bought the 3 computer version of Norton Securities 2014 from Amazon for $35 something. Symantec provides a sort of walk thru for installing on computer 2 & 3. Got the first one done last Tuesday with no problem. Then started on computer 2 yesterday and had all sorts of glitches. Became frustrated and shut it down thinking to start fresh this morning. Husband used that computer last night after i had gone to bed, and the install completed by itself successfully. Whoopee! Now I’ll get the desktop done tomorrow (have to wait for ‘allowance’ to regenerate from Hughes net)

      thanks Sudo15

I think you are right about no discs anymore. Grrrr. We had bad experience with Norton 360 in our church office and our local guru had nothing good to say about it. That was a couple years ago though. how do you like it?

My local Office Depot has the 3 computers version cheaper than I have found NIS anywhere.

I may end up going with AVG since I’ve got to download anyway. Any comments on the viability of the free version?? Avast??

      Much appreciated.

I have been trying to solve the non-working Flash Player 11 update problem for a couple weeks also, and read all of Joe’s instructions above, which changed how IE behaved but the videos still wouldn’t run, then I found the thing about player being disabled in tools. BINGO. Enabled it and now it works……. for how long, i don’t know. Pessimist that I am.

      Thanks all.

This may need to go somewhere else, if so, please move it…..

Is it possible to uninstall the Bing Bar?

Ted (Medico) indicates that it is but I can’t find how.

    • Back when this came to light, there was some discussion here and a link to determine if your address was in the Adobe database. At least I THINK it was here and I checked it with my current email address and Adobe said no I was not in their DB. Now it turns out I am.

I went through my password file [kept on flash drive] and looked at what accounts used the offending password. None of them are credit cards. or banks and many were tied to a now defunct email address. i.e. the company is defunct. Never the less, I will begin the arduous task of ‘fixing’ it all.

    • Thanks Rui……. I’d go with the hackers list, but I have no record of ever supplying a password to Adobe for anything. I’m baffled. But i will change my password on the address i searched.

Why can’t people play nice! Rhetorical question of course.

    • What if Adobe told you you did not have a password with them?
