I would be very interested in what brand of machine it is, as both my girls can be heard just before bedtime singing in the bathroom (while they are supposed to be brushing their teeth!)

I know of software that can cut, fade in and out, etc, but none that can remove the singing and leave the soundtrack only. Would seem to me that this is not possible digitally because the nature of the recording. If there were two streams that could be separated then maybe, but I think there is only one stream. You might find something to cut out certain highs and lows, but this would cut highs and lows of the music as well.

If this were possible it would be great, I have two young daughters who love to dance to some of the current music, but I won’t let them listen after a certain point because of the lyrics. Shame isn’t it!

Gotta give a strong second to Avast…works nicely, smooth def upgrades, even some pretty cool skins. A+ in my opinion.

If you really want to be free of popups and have the best browser around take Mozilla for a test browse. I’m still using version 1.4 and there is nothing I do not like about it. It coexists with IE nicely and inherently blocks most all popup ads (at least any that I’ve run across) without having yet ANOTHER application running!

Possibly, or maybe the fan quit and it got to hot, maybe a fuse blew, maybe there’s a ghost in the machine, maybe a couple of hundred other things.

I would suggest a new power supply for the first step (the power motor thingy)! Relatively easy to replace, just make sure to take a look at where all the plugs are plugged into before you take the old one out. I would get a good one, at least a 400 watt true power rating.

    • in reply to: Video Problem #829135

Would suggest this as a permanent solution in any system that has a mobo with on-board video. Mobos with onboard video tend to have more quirks and problems with the video trace than a mobo without onboard video and they also use more system resources to produce the video output than a mobo with a video card, AGP is best, PCI is second best (if you have the choice).

From experience, I prefer the motherboard to be without onboard video, and have an AGP slot available. However, it is possible that your problem arises from the bios settings, but I would think it unlikely unless you have manually attempted to tweak them.

I’m assuming that the mobo has on board video. I think I would get a stand alone video card, AGP if there is a slot, or PCI if you must and try that since they are relatively inexpensive for an average card.

I would say Ebay is a good source for many things, but something as delicate as a motherboard, I prefer to get from a “brick and mortar” storefront where I can take it back if something was to be wrong with it.
