    • Thanks, but it didn’t work…more about this later.

I found a KB article that says that the break apart function is NOT supported in Office 2002…I assume this means that the reassemble function is not supported either. I’m quite surprised that this function has been removed from O2002.

      See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?…b;en-us;Q287766

Re the extract to OE. How do you do that? Export doesn’t seem to offer a way to do this to individual files or folders? Am I missing something here?

      Thanks

      Thanks Mary,
I guess by implication, there’s no way to ammend the ‘Find a Contact’ search fields. Your suggestion to use the ‘Find’ function works well however I was just looking to save a few mouse clicks. I suppose this was designed this way to speed up a simple name search directly from the Contacts toolbar.

…again, thanks for the speedy response.

ActiveSynch 3.1 is fully compatible with W2K Professional, as I use it for my Jornada545 via the USB port. I can’t speak for W2k Server. I assume it will be fine but I have noticed some anomalies in other apps (such as ZoneAlarm).

I use Active Synch 3.1 to also synch a separate profile to WNT4.0 Server (via the serial COM2 port). I have also used it with W98SE with only minor inconsistencies.

If you are trying W2k Professional, my experience has been very positive.

On a hunch, I tried running OE from the Run command and the switch worked fine – thanks.
I just seem to be stumped adding the switch to the OE Desktop icon’s properties. Instead, I created a new desktop shortcut and put the switch in. This also works fine. So I have a shortcut called ‘OE Newsreader’ and this does the job (without having to resubscribe to all my existing newsgroups).

Many thanks…even if there no real answer to the access denied issue.

Thanks all…be interesting to know why MS thought they should specifically exclude the Newgroups functionality if the Outlook mail engine is indeed an invocation of OE.

I tried to add the suggested switch (under the OE desktop’s properties) but I received an “Access Denied” even though I am logged onto Win NT4.0 Server as an Administrator. Any reason this might be so?

      Thanks
