    • in reply to: Windows Secrets email crashes Outlook 2013 #1526743

It happened to me too, in the first couple attempts. I had to shutdown Outlook which kept trying to recover itself. Once I did that, had no issues with the email.

This is obviously an Outlook issue, not an email issue. Any email client that shuts down with a legitimate message, has a problem.

Have to disagree. Every other message worked fine as have earlier WS emails. Believe it was something unique to this message.

    • in reply to: Macrium Reflect and Windows PE #1449647

      What is Windows PE ?

I reckon your best bet is Macrium Support as it sounds like an issue within their software.

Email would work fine with or without an attachment.

    • in reply to: Too many AV’s? #1448564

Certainly you should only have one AV installed otherwise conflicts are likely. I’m surprised the second one installed without warning there was already AV installed (unless it automatically disabled it).

Personal choice will dictate which you keep. You could get a hundred responses here all with a different view on which is best and why !

    • I have an external usb drive that does exactly the same.

I’m guessing it’s the characteristics of the drive more than anything that want to shut down rather than keep spinning. Personally I don’t see it as a problem.

    • Why would you want to do that?

The flag serves a purpose in different colour states, overriding is ridiculous, you’ll think all is good when it may not be.

Plus of course, ehy would anyone download a file like this from an unknown provider.

184Gxxx Cottage, Newton Upon Rawcliffe, North York Moors & Coast (Ref 184)Gateside is a former threshing barn which has been sympathetically converted to a high standard and is located in the Yorkshire village of Newton upon Rawcliffe near to Pickering. The property is an 'upside down' house and has three bedrooms (one double, one twin and one single) which with the addition of a family bathroom makes it suitable for five people. Also in the cottage is a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside the cottage is a courtyard with furniture and off road parking for two cars. Gateside is a charming base to discover the wide variety of attractions on offer in this beautiful part of Britain.http://www.awin1.com/pclick.php?p=126197359&a=33493&m=3317http://images.productserve.com/preview/3317/126197359.jpghttp://www.xxxxxx.co.uk/cottages/184.phphttp://cottageimages.xxxxxxxxxxxx.co.uk/184_10.jpg332.000.00629AccommodationAccommodation

    • in reply to: Win 8 – burn to dvd fails – file names too long #1354783

If you have Win 7, just right click the ISO file and choose Burn Disk Image. The built in burner handles this chore nicely. Others have usedimgburnvery effectively.

      Using W7 64. Doenloaded both w8 and Office 2013.

Office 13 is iso file, and that worked fine by dragging into Roxio as is.

W8 however downloads as a zip file which I can unzip but not do the burn.

Right click on iso files though are not giving the Burn Image option.

    • in reply to: When is USB3 cable not a USB3 cable? #1350249

There is a lot of complaints about the length of cable that can be used with USB3.

The specs fail to mention it but there’s a lot of info about it on the web, found this one which seems to make sense: http://www.everythingusb.com/superspeed-usb.html#cables_hubs

Seems we can have higher speed but only shorter distances.

If you search templates in microsoft excel online there are many mortgage templates ready made. I’m betting there may be one ready made for the job.

    • in reply to: Need Web hosting with good spam filtering #1342866

Another vote for Spam Assassin, but you need to let it learn and preferably use the white list and black list features. Another server side becoming popular is Spam Experts. Seems to work well, has a pretty interface but not as intuitive as SpamAss to understand.

    • in reply to: Recommendations for 4 port USB hub? #1342865

To add to what has already been said, if you plug more than one USB 3 device in it must me powered to provide full pass rate to the bus. Powered from the USB socket or another socket as some seem to do will not provide enough power.

    • in reply to: Mouse Warranty #1340227

The warranty remains as per the original purchase, it does not start again. Just had keyboard and mouse replaced and they made it quite clear on more than one occasion.
